Always is the title track from Forest Ray's forthcoming 2022 album. It blends 12 string acoustic guitars, Rhodes piano and soaring slide guitars. It was self produced entirely analog, on a 24 track machine in Forest Ray's Seattle home-studio.

“Black Pine” is the third video single from Forest Ray’s fourth studio album of the same name, “Black Pine”. It was recorded at The Unknown (Croatian American Church) in Anacortes, Washington in a fully analog recording process tracked live to tape. The name Black Pine, is borrowed from the english translation of “Crnobor”, the autochthonous trees of the croatian coastal region, Dalmatia, where songwriter Peter Sumic’s family immigrated from. The trees are a common sight for those spending their days in the rocky coast of coastline and is an especially personal symbol for Sumic.
 
Black Pine digs into a syncopated folk rock groove deliberately and with full force. A bouncing verse cycling around a subtle bar of 7/4, a quiet homage to the complex rhythms of the balkans fit within the lens of psychedelic rock and folk which finally ends, with the well anticipated wailing fuzz solo satisfying tension created from the syncopated groove beneath it.

A somber summer bop for those still searching for their dose of psychedelia and rock n' roll in what might be the most uniquely reflective and bizarre summer of the last century.
