King Calico (Calum Smith) works the dichotomy between expectation and reality. His music has a definite pulse that doesn't hold within electronic or acoustic boundaries but explores a more developed sonic palette. King Calico qualifies his music as "Acoustic-esque, with washes of effects underpinning words more inspired by novels than nightclubs. I think of it as acoustic guitar stuff, but with a jazz guitar put through lots of stompboxes with me singing over the top through a little mist of reverb".
