Liquid Phonk present another truly sophisticated soulful house groover, a fine, timeless release for delicate dancers and music lovers including lush remixes by Henry L & Ingo Sanger and John Gazoo.

Since the turn of the millennium Liquid Phonk has stood for proper house productions. Over many hours of countless studio sessions Mirko Koenig and Patrick Lesser from the South- West of Germany have formed their very own style and sound.
Their first public appearance was on Patrick Lindsey’s former label “School Records” back in 2000 followed by further EPs until 2004.

After it was getting quiet around Mirko and Patrick, they raised Liquid Phonk back to the surface. Rainer Trueby took notice of their releases on Nick Humphrey’s label “Lifted Digital” and managed a split-release alongside the Cologne producer Sello on “Compost Black Label” in 2012 with their track “Heart & Soul”. Several releases and remixes followed on labels such as Ingo Sänger’s “Farside Records”, “Lost My Dog” and “Something Different”. With the “hardboogie-remix” of Shahrokh Dini’s track “Bechno”, Liquid Phonk returned to Compost Black Label in 2015. In 2016 they are starting with their first solo EP on this label, supported by two stunning remixes by Henry L & Ingo Sänger and John Gazoo.

Thankfully this Afternoon Sadness is a big ole' pick me up and behind this one is Ordonez, who serves up two succulent deep house originals that are filled with feeling. 

First up and our Debut Transmission for today, Afternoon Sadness is more than six minutes of feel good house music with sombre piano chords, vocal coos and rubber kicks that are groove based and inviting, get your ears around it.

Londoner Jozif provides a dreamy remix of the Vienna-based DJ and Brazilian Euro-club connoisseur Joyce Muniz. 

After breaking through with standout releases on labels like Wolf + Lamb, Mobilee & Ministry of Sound back in 2010, Jozif continues to build on the success of his sound. He has been enlisted by the cultured likes of Mobilee, Suol and Compost for remixes, and received much love from artists such as Sasha, Giles Peterson, Andrew Weatherall, and Damian Lazarus. It's his serene, carefully permeated slo-mo ambiance that's imbued his musical admirers.

For proof of his artistic ability in the booth, you only need ask anyone who has seen him play at places like Space Ibiza, Verboten New York & London’s foremost fabric and many other festivals around Asia and both Americas. At the moment, he is adding the final touches to his debut artist album and an accompanying Live show, whilst simultaneously co-writing the Kerb Staller debut album & Live show alongside cohort and production partner Matt Tolfrey.

Today's premiere, 'Daydreaming,' is the first club single from the debut album of Joyce Muniz, sure to find its way onto late night dancefloors around the world over the summer and beyond. Since going strength to strength, remixing the likes of Stereo MCs, Maya Jane Coles, Steve Bug, and Til von Sein, the album breaks new ground for Joyce, allowing her to dive deeper into songwriting. Aided by a perfect slew of vocals, the forthcoming album will live somewhere between the club and the home.

Daydreaming will be available June 27th via Exploited.

Dancing has been an intrinsic element of cultural development in every society on Earth, and has existed in multitudinous forms since time immemorial. For many, it is a pure expression of joy, a release of inhibition and a communal act of passion and celebration. For others however, it can induce self-consciousness and social anxiety which, combined with peer pressure or societal expectations, can lead to distress.

Fortunately, there is a solution to this predicament, thanks to the tireless efforts of a Copenhagen based Groove expert in the early 90’s. After extensive studies of dance styles throughout history, Rune Weise Kofoed was able to isolate a dance move which was not only as culturally universal as laughter, but also induced no adverse effects in even the most severe cases of dancer's anxiety. He called this move “Dorsi Plantar”, and it instantly became so popular that it was commonly performed by those who had never heard of it. Its versatility was so great that it was appropriate for every genre of music, and its execution so straightforward and intuitive that it could be achieved by dancers of all ages and skill levels. For all these reasons and more, Dorsi Plantar is now the single most common dance move anywhere in the world, and is generally recognised as being “Perfectly Normal Behavior.”

Following the success of this dance revolution, Rune has gone on to create a musical movement of the same name. Like the dance move, this music has been developed through an exhaustive search of historical material, which had been carefully recorded onto vinyl for posterity. These records were collected and combined under the name Dorsi Plantar to create a new rhythmic creation with the same universal appeal and ease of enjoyment which made his infamous move such a huge success. Now, for the first time, Kyoku Records have been given the opportunity to present Dorsi Plantar’s phenomenal creations as a collectible vinyl pressing, featuring an exclusive remix by Paxton Fettel.
