For his sophomore EP and first on wax, NYC based producer and audio engineer Andrew Nerviano aka Plebeian serves up a psychedelic sound system workout designed for deep and explorative club contexts. Opening up with the luminescent soundscapes of ‘Enzymes’ he transitions seamlessly into more rugged and stripped back territory on ‘Tannins’. Flipping over we find hypnotic sub-killer ‘Neutrinos’ before closing the excursion with ‘Quantum’ which slithers and jitters its way through a variety of hyperdimensional wormholes. Shimmering and crystalline yet durable and robust this is fully dosed gear for the session, please use responsibly.

After stellar releases on Ilian Tape and Nostro Hood System among others, Mutualism represents the much-awaited return of Atrice on their own label Miras. The follow-up EP reflects the culmination of a year-long exploration of compositional techniques and sound design, and acts as a first step towards a debut album. The result is a complete work, divided into eight chapters, that applies previous artistic research on textures, harmonics and rhythms in a rigorous yet playful manner. Whilst continuing to touch upon a broad spectrum of uptempo reference points, Mutualism offers a first glimpse into the pairs underlying pliancy next to the ever-present intricate complexities in their output.

The original release was accompanied by a highly limited run of just 10 dubplates. Deeming this 6-tracker too good not to receive a proper pressing, Control Freak are proud to present the first ever complete vinyl run for Mindforms:

Alongside the record, Syz & Control Freak have curated Clubforms, a collection of remixes from some of our favourite producers, each bringing the original release firmly onto the dancefloor with their own production flourishes.

@henry-greenleaf & @daisymoon take a decidedly Bristolian approach, delivering a pair of scorching hot, bass-driven club stompers. Meanwhile, @tammohesselink brings deep, European techno flavours to the slate, whilst @keplrr twists ‘Essence’ into a deep, loopy and meandering afterparty favourite. Finally, Syz reworks ‘1E’ in his own inimitable style for his ‘2Es VIP’ - rounding off one of the finest collections of club tracks we’ve ever had the pleasure to present on Control Freak.

@rare-drill is back with that same spark in his eyes that once lit up the scene as a resident of Kazan's Werk and the creative force behind the OSM Night party series (@osmnight). Recently, Drill moved to Serbia, got together with mates and created a promo with the fitting name SKITALICE (@skitalicebeo), and has already made a splash with the first event in the capital. What comes next - you'll find out very soon, but for now, let's just listen.

"Paris" is both a tight and poetic club track. Over a cold, mechanical beat, goldgoldgold unfold their distinctive rough sampling of pop vocals and melancholic soundscapes, creating an aesthetic dance universe. With its pure electronic expression, the track works both on the dance floor and in more introspective listening moments.

Returning to his inimitable solo work after a spate of collaborations and more, https://soundcloud.com/le-motel reappears on a new platform that he's established to capture the heady mix of global influences he distils into club-ready and contemporary forms. Taking its name from the ancestral long houses found in the indigenous cultures of the Amazon, his new label https://soundcloud.com/malocarecords will present his new release 'Transiro' as its debut transmission.

'Transiro' is comprised of six lean tracks that quake and bounce with an effortless style. And the EP presents a return to where he left off with his acclaimed album 'OKA'. A broad palette of sound sources are selected and reworked in Le Motel's productions, often layering and juxtaposing the unfamiliar. Having travelled out to speak with and learn from the different cultures and communities that you find interwoven through his work, there's a special resonance that these tracks possess. 'Transiro' presents a spread of hybrid dance works that synthesise Le Motel's research with juke, hip hop, techno, and more otherworldly strains from clubs around the globe.

The EP's title marks both a shift in the artist's personal life as well as a commitment to his methods. In Esperanto, transiro refers to a state of transition, which captures the circumstances in which the EP was written but, most importantly, describes journeying across sonic cultures.
