In September 2023, Melifera Records announced a call for producers. We asked electronic music composers to send us a track created using at least one sample from our bank. This bank was made up of field recordings made by festival-goers during a workshop at our festival La Vallée Électrique.

The aim was to celebrate the creativity of our community of French and international artists.

We selected our favourite 20 and asked the legendary Luigi Tozzi if he could support the project with a remix.

This is how Whispers of the Valley was born: a Various Artists in three opuses, the crystallisation of a collective work. From the recording of the samples to the release of these twenty-one pieces of music, we are proud to have made Melifera a creative vehicle for this magnificent community.

Part 2 of this EP series is set for release on 15th April.

Here we are with our sixth exhibition! The talented French producer Adhémar and the super hypnotic Italian duo Primal Code will star in it. All of this will be framed by an incredible painting by Vincent Van Gogh.

The Starry Night is a painting by the Dutch painter Vincent van Gogh, made in 1889 and kept in the Museum of Modern Art in New York. A true icon of Western painting, the painting depicts a nocturnal landscape of Saint-Rémy-de-Provence, just before sunrise.

Concept:
Whispers of the Valley is a three-part opus, highlighting the talent of emerging and established artists alike, including a remix by Luigi Tozzi. The project came to life with a field recording sample bank gathered during a workshop at La Vallée Electrique 2022, from which we asked producers to compose a unique track using at least one sample.

Whispers of the Valley Part. 3
The valley comes to an end with a feeling of peace and connection with nature. The dancers leave with an atmosphere of joy and well-being, the music having created a unique and melodious soundatmosphere.

The magic of this moment is revealed in the whispering of the valley that wrapped around the dancers, and the poetry of the scene will remain imprinted in their memories forever.

French producer, DJ and performer, founder of Accent Records since 2015, The style of Sub Accent is a mix between techno, raw, deep, dub, ambient and experimental sounds.

These tracks keep conveying my understanding of nature, light, energy and beauty. They’re traveling through time and space, and guiding our minds into a natural landscape to embark on a journey. There are harmonies of the wind blowing the leaves, the flowing river, the insect chirping and all kinds of elements from the nature worship of primitive tribes, that’s animism and endless sound life.
