Shades of orange bathe the streets in the neon glow of night. Under the artificial dome of the city, light from the dense urban landscape wraps itself against the overwhelming facades of towering habitats and server blocks, intermingling at the edges of imperceptible alleyways shrouded in darkness only broken by the flickering nocturnal emblems of deep night haunts of sleaze and virtual hedonism. The twins are at home here, every edge of the city mapped in their hybrid cerebellum, connected exquisitely with inter-dimensional technology stolen from the most intimate grasp of the AI governing the sprawl. Shattering the silence of the night with the abrasive roar of refined combustion and the precisely engineered mechanisms of their vehicles, the streets fly beneath them - acting as one, every corner taken with nothing to spare, utterly in the present - surgeons of the moment. The drones giving chase have no chance, unable to compensate for the perfectly calculated errors of humanity, every recalibration coming too late - THE CHASE is relentless and swift ... the immaculate pair vanish into the dense depths of the labyrinthine underworld with their haul of sonic artifacts.

Remarkable twin Russian production entity, Gancher & Ruin, follow up last year's induction to the label on Eatbrain's Mirror Universe LP with THE CHASE EP, delivering 4 powerful neurofunk weapons including a collaboration with label boss JADE in the form of gargantuan track JUMP! Known widely in the circles of the darkest drum and bass for their heavy sound, with this release the pair demonstrate a complex understanding of neurofunk, moving deftly between verdant sci-fi beauty and dense raw energy. One year had passed since the devastation of mankind. All life ravaged by the undead plague, a tide of death sweeping across the planet mercilessly, as the ever-growing mass of the lifeless swelled in its wake. The sentient population of the globe was reduced to pitiful numbers, hiding in the wreckage of once vibrant cities, long since destroyed in the futile battle for survival. Where once there was hope for survival, now remained only the ember of a desperate memory of a different future. The cycle of the dead was ever in motion, their ragged forms roaming in packs, haunting the urban desolation. Ever-dimming senses of their terminal animated corpses constantly ready to consume the living. An endless yearning to feed drove them relentlessly onwards through the desolate shadows of civilization’s end, whilst the earth below those skulking feet continued its galactic voyage obliviously. Above one such horde, a celestial alignment was unfurling in the cold depths of space. As the sun burned blood red against the horizon and the moon slid serenely across its infernal face, the light dimmed as heavy shade drew across planet. The shuffling of the horde paused as distant poured their anguish into the sky at the early arrival of night. Rotting faces raised to the heavens, the light of that unholy corona spilling across their putrid features. The dying rays of a bleak sunset penetrating their rotting sockets, as the SOLAR ECLIPSE leveled darkness upon the earth with raging eternal might.
 
Hungarian neurofunk legend CHRIS.SU returns to the EATBRAIN label in full force, following up his ‘Underground Culture’ label anthem and State of Mind Collaboration ‘Chariots’ with his first full EP – SOLAR ECLIPSE. From the eerie and suspenseful atmosphere of the title track in collaboration with label core JADE & MINDSCAPE, to the driven filth of THE LAST LAUGH, wrapped in the sinister lyrics of NUKLEAR, through to the shimmering but powerful sci-fi aesthetics of THE ARROW, Chris.SU delivers a pure slice of heaviness for one of dnb’s most vibe-laden imprints. It was the product of eons of research, an infinitely divisible weaponized molecule with the power to viciously disrupt at a granular level. Its innocuous smooth, red exterior glinted sharply under the labs harsh fluorescent lighting as it sat singularly ready, packed with the kinetic malevolence of its design. Subject 01304 sat with the wide staring eyes of a prey animal, small droplets of perspiration erupting from the pale skin of his face and shifting with the continual nervous twitching within his restraints. The faceless assistants administered the Redpill swiftly and without resistance as the observers watched with dark eyes, gazing without emotion upon their work. Inside the dark, moist interior of the subject, the pill’s casing split, its infernal contents spilling out, bonding with the subject’s biomatter, multiplying, attaching itself to each of his organic molecules, maliciously converting and evolving… hungrily devouring and pushing relentlessly towards the endstate of its design. The observers watched as the subject’s body distorted, heaving internally as he uttered inhuman sounds and twisted at his restraints. Black tendrils laced through the surface of his skin, suddenly tightening, before he both at once ruptured and imploded. The Redpill’s process was complete… amongst the carnage the tentacled black mass of teeth and gaping hollow eyes reached eerily towards the glass, the shadow of death in its wake.

REPULSION, RED CAT and RABBIT unleash powerful strokes of hard-hitting d&b, giving the RED PILL a mighty backbone that’s perfect for annihilating sound systems and certainly set to devastate festivals throughout summer. Eatbrain prove once again their ability to take upcoming artists alongside their established producers and aggressively level up their output to ultimate effect.
