Since Richie Hawtin played this track in his Boiler Room Set on Ibiza, many people have been asking about this Joyce Muniz collab. The track features fresh vocals by Bam (formerly known as MC Baby Bam) from the legendary 90ies hip-hop group The Jungle Bothers (Native Tongues/Zulu Nation). The beat is based around a sample from Kraftwerk's 'It's More Fun To Compute,' and for this version we've actually got full approval from Kraftwerk (yes - guess what). So we're happy to release it now. Hope you dig it too.

It’s always a thrill to welcome back one of the most unique and successful acts in our roster. Berlin based Cord and Sacha, duo also known as Robosonic, have been crafting hip hop and soul infused house jams for OFF Recordings in the last couple of years. 
While staying true to themselves in keeping an undogmatic approach to club music, this sound has become a solid parameter in their energetic DJ performances. We are happy to bring them back with an EP showcasing all of this magic in 3 amazingly engineered tracks. 

On this release with the lucky golden era catalogue number „93“, Robosonic's organic blend of classy house music and classic hiphop goes next level again: New York rap legend Masta Ace, originally part of the famed Juice Crew in the mid-80s (with Marley Marl, Biz Markie, Big Daddy Kane among others!), known for collaborations with artists such as MF Doom, influencing rappers like Eminem, and still now known as one of the realest rappers alive, made a teenage dream come true for Cord when he recorded an original feature part and hook for Robosonic on top of their soulful "Good Old Feel"! A radio cut, boasting the full vocal performance by Masta Ace, is not included in this 3-tracker, but rather saved up for the upcoming Robosonic album. 

“Dedicated” builds on a vinyl from Sacha’s collection – this dirty jacking track is a dancefloor bomb! Uncompromisingly fun to play and dance to, it features a catchy sax lick and hip hop vocal cuts, toying with ghetto snare rolls and punchy drums. A nasty piece of house music that’s hard to forget. 

Finally, “Life Is Like” completes this journey into the golden age of hip hop. Inspired by one of the greatest producers of this era, sample workout and vocal cuts mix perfectly with drum machine beats and bass-heavy drops. There‘s even a crafty shout out to Big L, who used to speak with criminal slang, until the sad day he was shot...

Chief welcomes a new face to the Chief family! We are proud to present a talented producer from the UK: Casey Spillman. Casey presents three strong Tech House records. “Funk Baby” is the first track of the EP. This track has some old school percussion vibes, funky bassline and some wicked vocal chops. Remix duties for this EP are by DJOKO and James Dax. Our good friend DJOKO created an awesome  remix with a nice sub bass line and some funky bouncy synth action. James Dax is making his debut on Chief and does this with class, delivering an amazing dark groovy interpretation.
“Better Than Ever” is the next original track in this EP. Characterized by a heavy stomping rhythm, this track has a more darker feel to it. Rough kick, sub bass action and some siren like synths give this track some UK flavor. The final track is called “Hard To Stay Focused”. This track has some mysterious vocal effects and a more laidback rhythm. The atmospheric pads give this track a unique vibe.

Grace Kim’s “All The Love” Gets a Fresh Rework from James Silk on Déepalma Soul.

Paris-based Korean DJ and producer Grace Kim continues her ascent through the house music world with her standout track “All The Love”, now receiving a brand-new remix from UK talent James Silk. Out 17th October 2025 via Déepalma Soul, the release lands just in time to soundtrack the buzz of Amsterdam Dance Event 2025.

Originally celebrated for its sultry vibe and emotional pull, “All The Love” already enjoyed a highly successful reimagining from French groove-master Sebb Junior. And here we go again, bringing you another massive dancefloor smash on Formatik Records, this time crafted and well polished in the studio of Berlin's only David Keno, who has amassed an impressive catalogue of releases and remixes throughout the past decade from early 12“es on i220 to singles on Trapez LTD, Mother, URSL, his very own Keno Recordings and way beyond.

The title track „Black Betty“ delivers a fascinating electronic take on a prominent and well-known vocal sample from the Rock'n'Roll era, transfers it to a modernistic, octane-fueled TechHouse context and comes across as perfect crossover tune amalgamating underground and mass appeal within 269 seconds of madness.

As a bonus we see Robosonic, also responsible for a large remix of Format: B's uber-hit „Chunky“ on Formatik Records in early 2k15, at the remix controls, delivering a massive warehouse rave stomper built on a rock-solid foundation of banging drums, dirty signals, hoovers and – of course – the trademark vocals works for the laser, fog and glowstick massive. Dateless is a name you might not have heard yet, but we know you’ll be hearing a lot more of from this Los Angeles native from here on out. Proof that it’s not just an urban legend that our head ‘Bird, Claude VonStroke, really does listen to every demo that comes in, Dateless submitted a handful of tracks to our demo page, Claude pressed play, and we wanted almost all of them. 

We introduced him to Dirtybird on our “Secret Sauce” compilation in June, and we felt he deserves his own EP, “A Whole Lot”, featuring two singles that both fit as A-sides-the title track and “El Viento Tropical”.

We look forward to seeing the bright future ahead for this talented young artist, and don’t think finding dates will be a problem anymore.

If you’ve followed Dirtybird for a while, then you’re surely aware of Sacha Robotti. He’s graced the label several times the past 5 years, but often with a collaborator-Kill Frenzy, Kevin Knapp, Justin Jay, Look Like, etc. 

“Melato Nina” is Sacha’s first solo EP with us and both tracks are filled with emotion, appropriately so. The title track continuously builds around the haunting synth melody and the subdued vocals of Tauon, while the melodic “Low Key Goddess” contrasts the extremes of light & dark sounds to culminate in two brilliant pieces of music.

Established in 2009 by Berlin-based DJs and producers Jakob Hildenbrand and Franziskus Sell, known, praised and recognized by fans and followers of electronic club music under their conjunctional moniker Format B, Formatik Records was initially installed as a homebase for the pairs own productions.

After their so-called Motor Funk-sound, a forward thinking take on pumping, straightforward, high octane electronic music represented both by releases on labels like Highgrade Records or Stil For Talent as well as an endless string of captivating live sets, had caught the attention of clubbers and media alike the pair felt the need to create a platform of their own that would grant them full creative freedom as well as unlimited quality control for a fertile and fecund future.      

Whilst taking care of the A& R side of things Format B teamed up with electronic music veteran Hawks Grunert on management duties, setting up an imprint that soon gained massive traction, became one of the major forces on the global club circuit and quickly grew way beyond the teams initial plannings and intentions.
 
With its core sound being defined by the powerful Motor Funk / Tech-Funk production of its founders Formatik Records soon became home and mothership for a vast array of likeminded producers and friends whose single releases are still rocking dancefloors all over the place.

Spreading the labels trademark sound further and catering towards the needs of an ever growing fanbase the label soon expanded and started to set up Formatik Records club nights and showcases all over Europe back in 2014, selling out  shows and leaving punters in awe whereever these nights are taking place.

Aside from carving out an in demand niche as club promoters the Formatik Records crew also started to take care of their artists bookings with their very own booking agency Formatik Booking which was subsequently renamed, restructured and relaunched in 2017 under the name of VIVID Artists which is now successfully handling things bookingwise for a good portion of the labels roster plus a carefully picked selection of other aspiring as well as well established artists and performers.

In addition to these musings the ever busy Formatik Records team established a second, rapidly growing musical outlet in 2017. Embracing a broader musical spectrum than its Motor Funk-oriented mothership, the freshly founded label FMK+ provides a home for a new generation of producers covering a wide range of electronic club music incorporating a musical spectrum including all things House, ElectroHouse, TechHouse, Techno and beyond. With more than 10 red hot releases within the first year the new FMK+ branch has received much love amongst DJ's and from an international dancefloor crowd and quickly turned out to be a launchpad for fresh, upcoming talent from all over the globe.

Branching out even further Formatik Records launched an additional subdivision in early 2018 – FormatikSounds. Focusing on the ever growing demand for high quality samples and grooves this specific and one of a kind label provides exclusive sample packs for DJ's and producers alike, starting operations with Format:B's “TechHouse Signature Cuts”, an acclaimed release which sees the upfront production team unveiling some of their best kept secrets soundwise, catering to the needs of every creator of contemporary club sounds of today.
