Sur ce sol accidenté, rien ne semble avoir résisté, ni image, ni écran. Rien si ce n’est des débris, des reliquats de vies passées, d'existences numériques. De la mousse phosphorescente a recouvert mes pieds. A tout recouvert. Entre effroi et émerveillement, je contemple les alentours, médusé. 
Alors que de nouvelles voix et un nouveau langage résonnent en moi, le silence environnant m’accable. Pourtant au loin j’entends des sirènes en écho. Elles m’appellent. Je me lève finalement et commence ma traque. Suivre la trace des ces chants, quoi de plus hasardeux. Allez, qu’est-ce que j’ai à perdre de toute façon."

"Japanese producer At Her Open Door presents a new suite of chaotic club amalgamation, fusing elements from the grimy corners of heady basements to the air in big system dance floor. Mostly drugged and dragged thru mud, "Demon Stinger" tumbles with a drunken grace, and arrives at a place where its hard not to bang your head. Tracks like "Herald" beckon the unity of noise form stagger and drumfunk-like break cutting/atmos. "Goya" takes the idea of metal literally, exorcising haunting bells up from the deep, ripped open vocal bubbling up thru the massive drums. "Figure Code" and "Dibasic" operate on a sort of downtempo groove with the electricity turned up to 11. Lastly, "Optical Resonator" and "Bramble" open up the senses via shifting energy, whether with polyrhythmic resolve or dramatic compromise between noise and sound and rhythm. "

∎ It finds itself deep in enemy territory, navigating fog-choked grid zones with calculated precision. And it pulls up strapped: drop the weaponized shock-n-awe dembow guitars on ‘Mf Nu - Metal’ and watch your pulse race and fight-or-flight kick in. It’s caged danger, harnessed and contained in a dancefloor-pulverising forcefield.

➜ A stacked inventory within. The dual wield of ‘Fast Life’ and ‘Thug Pro Infinite’ mesh spring-loaded, exoskeletal drums with biomechanical synth melodics — not a wasted sound, pure economy of movement like a swarm of spectral Boston Dynamics mobile bots forging towards an acquired target. But it’s not all red dots and night vision: ‘Rural Song’ and ‘Clown Riddim’ betray the organic impulse at the heart of the machine. This machine breathes. This machine feels. And it’s strength, not flaw.

Lau Andersson’s debut album, The Weeping Siege, is accompanied by a visual side made by Lau and is a sonic walk where the listener is taken by their hand through known and unknown landscapes. 

Repetitive choir pieces, melodic cellos and fragmented rhythms leaves the listener at a place where language does not seem to reach - a place where language becomes sound, and where meaning is not meaning. From this place you can be without words.

The album makes references to Lyra Pramuk’s alluring vocal use, Arca’s experimental beats and Caterina Barbieri’s harmonic drones. Threads from these artists are bound together by Lau in a hymn which sings today. Lau further draws inspiration from artists such as Maria Horn and Sara Parkman’s album Funeral Folk and the record label XKatedral.

On the album, apart from long passages without words, there’s presented poetic sentences like: “Thee reeds are grieving, With mouths full of greed, Here I shall plant my seed, Behold, o weeping reeds, Only you reach the sea, My mother is the sea, My father the earth”. These small breaks into a lyric universe gives the listener space to think and gives room for the great, which is found in nature.

Lau about the album: “Many of the sketches for the different pieces were recorded with my phone while I was hiking in Georgia and Northern Italy in the summer 2023. The bare, beautiful landscapes and mountains, and the walk with sheep and cows made singing and hymns a natural communication with the elements which have no language.”

Lau Andersson is a Copenhagen-based sound and visual artist. Lau has until now founded the experimental visual animation duo Orgaphine, which has made music videos for for example the Xuri track Kali’s Dance, the ioulus album oddkin and Alto Aria I’ll Be Fine. Lau is educated as an electronic composer from The Copenhagen Conservatory of Copenhagen and has earlier released music under the name Raquin, an album released on Janushoved named Dance Of The Peacock.

Rhizome is a Copenhagen-based label started in 2020 by Aria Leth Schütze and Mads Krue Bugge. The label works with experimental music and alternative release formats and has released music from artists such as Alto Aria, Skarv, ioulus, Swell, Polly, Nemo, Laenz, Ida Urd, ill, Irmgard and Ingri Høyland as well as the compilation albums bag/belly/box and Hypersea. Rhizome has presented music at Øen, Alice, Mayhem, and Christianshavns Beboerhus in Copenhagen and Fitzroy in Berlin.

Pivetta and Tabache are great friends and met in August 2022 for the last time before Pivetta (Maestro) left Bologna and returned to live in Germany. So they decided to meet in Pivetta’s studio to say goodbye for the last time and do their first jam session.
When tabache arrived he repeatedly pushed the doorbell (track1 “Campanello”), then entered and found in Pivetta’s house also his young brother Trombetta that therefore casually joined in the jam. They played all day till night, stopping just for a pizza (track 2) ordered in the “Favela” (track 3) restaurant under their house.
The EP is nothing more than the documentation of the 3 most intense moments of those hours.

It was all composed with analog instruments, some old organs, one ms-20, some samplers, Elektron RYTM and some weird synths.

Muls is the second single from At Her Open Door's new EP Entropy Echoes, out June 5 on POSTWORLD.

At Her Open Door is an experimental music project started in 2007 by Japanese artist Taiki Kobayashi. He has previously released the album FLIR on CHINABOT and the EP Demon Stinger on formforum, and has participated in compilations for Magdalena's Apathy and Subsist Records.

Entropy Echoes was created using analog synths and samplers such as the Octatrack, Roland JP-8080, and α-Juno.
