From Middlesbrough to Mexico; rising star Sahar follows up his Tong-hammered Paradiso release Madi with a trip to the Naica mines, Chihuahua on Midnight People. This one goes deep 300 metres deep.

Welcome to Naica. The title track sets the scene; the kick drum and galloping bassline drill deep into the earth striking synth-rich minerals that shimmer with emotion, tension and raw energy.

We drill deeper again to find the Cave Of Swords. The slower tempo creating a tension and smouldering intensity before were suddenly hit with extreme blasts of euphoric heat and light. Inspired by the cave itself where crystals as long as a metre exist, theres a sense of adventure, danger and awe running throughout.

We drill even deeper again to find the Crystal Maze. Slower, moodier, even more intense and driven by a taut, sinewy siren, were now 300m deep in a cave where crystals over 12 metres long have been growing for over 10,000 years, slow-cooked to perfection in the extreme heat of mother natures finest magma. And the only way back to the surface is through the rising, dubby ripples of Third Sons remix. Glistening like the crystals themselves, like the whole EP this takes us from Naica to nice, from underearth to underground, from magma to magnificent. Feel the heat.

Catz 'n Dogz welcome old friend and kindred spirit Alvaro Cabana to the Pets family with this powerful quartet of electric bulldozers. Building on the momentum he's been enjoying on his own Rotten City label, here we find the Spanish DJ in overdrive with three originals and one version.

'Ritmo Espiral' starts and ends the piece. Slapping with electroid spikiness and a pushed groove that thumps like it's the mid 2000s all over again, there's a timelessness here to both the original and the dub mix that bubble over with dark funk and nod in all directions from Black Strobe to Tiefschwarz.

They're joined by two more big time bruisers: 'Los Muertos Misteriosos' continues the electro theme with waves and layers of textures crashing down over a relentless drum/sub swagger while 'Barrio Solar' revels and writhes in more of Alvaro's groovecraft. Tight guitars, shimming top notes and a breakdown that will send you into space. Strap in tight, we'll see you on the other side.

The second release on Alan Dixon’s Love Attack label comes from the man himself, delivering a dreamy new EP entitled 'Night Time Melodies’.

Following high-profile releases on Gerd Janson's Running Back and Jennifer Cardini's Correspondant, Alan moves to his deeper side kicking things off with ’Night Time Melodies’ - an infectious piano house workout that sees super-slick keys dance elegantly around a chuggy, bumping bassline and beautifully resonant synth licks. Once again demonstrating his unfaltering ability to craft alluring, feel-good dance music Alan offers up a slice of sun-drenched optimism.

The track also receives a groove-tinged remix from Kiko Navarro moving things into the main room. Punchy snares and shuffling hats set a footwork-provoking rhythm underneath energetic, stabbing piano chords, with Navarro gradually working in a delectable wobbling acid line ramping up the energy for a sense-tingling, euphoric re-work.

The release is backed up by 'Tell Me When’, a modern-sounding club track to be heard in places such as Berlin's Panorama Bar. Pillared by an irresistible bassline, Alan lays down a dusty kick-hat pattern, punctured by ecstatic claps and engulfed in a plethora of scintillating synths.
