VVELTSCHMERZ is a DJ and producer hailing from Trondheim, Norway. As a kid growing up in the 90’s, he would become greatly influenced by his father’s interest and taste in music, which would lead him to start collecting records at a very young age. He would bring his records with him wherever he went, and would often end up playing them at his friends’ birthday parties etc. This led him to naturally venture into the world of DJing, and he began playing at his local youth club at the age of 11.

A typical set from VVELTSCHMERZ can be described as a high-gear, 4x4 journey through hard, electronic music – both old and new. From dirty acid and industrial warehouse techno to trance, pounding hard house and NRG – to hardstyle, hardcore, gabber and darkcore. No matter what he plays, his aim is always to create a memorable night on the dance floor.

VVELTSCHMERZ is the founder of the club concept UNTERVVELT, and one of the curators and organizers behind the art-and-club-event series KunstKLUBB and IMMERSION. Together with his good friend MØRK he runs the club concept Heart House, and they play together under the b2b moniker Norwegian Hard House Mafia. He has held monthly residencies at Dancevibes Radio (NL) and Fnoob Techno Radio (UK), where he has played alongside names like Reinier Zonneveld and PETDuo. 

Some of his recent bookings include warm-up for Might Be Twins (Kulturfabrikken Kristiansund), Frequent Friday (Stereo) and Bass-On (Vers Libre) in Bergen, Kristiansund Kunsthall, Give Me A Break (TYVEN), TRØNDERDOME (CLUB-WONDERLAND / Lager11), Technophilia (Trykkeriet Scene), PaaDyptVann (HAVET Arena), and warm-up for Onleash (Lokal Klubb).

In addition to DJing and producing, VVELTSCHMERZ is a visual artist, and the other half of the performance art-duo Mikalsen & Marhaug; working within the fields of sound art, techno, noise, power electronics, and live action painting – often intertwined through improvisation. He is also a co-founder of the contemporary art gallery OMNIBUS.
