For this edition of the Forsvarlig Podcast Series we have Berlin-based Blazej Malinowski behind the decks. Originally from Poland, he is the founder and curator of the Inner Tension label, which features a variety of his own work as well as upcoming artists in the scene. His other work has been released on established labels such as Kontrafaktum, Semantica, Silent Season and The Gods Planet. As for the nearby future, he'll release a stellar remix of Svarog’s 'Passengers' next week on PROPHET Recordings. Be sure to check that one out as well.

Very happy to have Jephta deliver this week’s mix and kickstart 2022. As both organizer and resident of the Embodiment event series, Jephta secures the spirit of a particularly strong movement. Their no-nonsense vision of pure, fierce grooves has been successfully pushed over the last years through eventful celebrations and the rock-solid ‘SALON’ mix series. PVC organizes raves in clubs and forests around Leipzig. His project is deeply inspired by mountain ecosystems and indigenous cultural and musical environments. An avid vinyl collector, he uses sound source modular synthesis, field recordings and aboriginal meditation instruments for his craft.

This week we have Michal Gutkowski behind the decks, also known as Ariet. His commitment to putting together music does not derive exclusively from his own energy, as he uses his rhythms as audiovisual therapies for himself and his listeners as well.

Michal resides in Poznan, Poland and has traveled many countries for his craft. On the 30th of September, Ariet has a new EP planned on the mighty KVLTÖ Records. 
Some words by the man himself: "I'm super excited to be joining some of my favorite producers like John Plaza, Vanta or Pattrn on the label. The EP consists of 4 tracks, which were produced in the autumn of 2021. I treat them very personally as they were the expression of the things that I was going through."

Definitely check it when it's out. But for now, please comfort yourself with this spectacular session.

Forsvarlig Podcast Series 116 - Ariet

Podcast 119 brings a brilliant recording from French artist named Jeremie Kagan, a 25-year-old producer from Nantes, right near the French west coast. Jeremie started off in 2014 focussing primarily on psytrance and still does, however not much later he decided to shift his focus to the realm of techno, which is now a side project of him. As he self-describes, this transition made him melt a more melancholic atmosphere with hypnotic and mental grooves. 

The almost 2-hour recording that he has put together for us expresses all of this. One can expect a truly immersive journey that will seemingly grasp away your perception of time.  Enjoy the ride.

We are excited to wrap up the year 2022 with a bang by featuring Toki Fuko's incredibly vivid and immersive mix. The Russian artist brings a diverse array of hypnotic sounds to the table in this captivating recording. In his current work, Toki Fuko spends most of his time in his sound laboratory, collaborating with other artists both within Russia and abroad. He is constantly finding new ways to experiment with sound modulation and push the boundaries of his craft

Recently this talented producer released wonderful EPs on labels like Silent Season, Annulled Music, Affin Records and many others, which are well worth checking out. In addition to all of this, Toki Fuko is making a name for himself as Live PA artist, as he is performing alongside Simone Bauer among others at the upcoming Confluence event at Petit Bain club, Paris next month.

Forsvarlig Arkiv kicks off 2023 with a long-awaited guest mix by some of our favourite local figures: Children of Valis. Recorded at one of their resident nights last December, they took the plunge and delivered a vivid 2-hour trip in Amsterdam’s Shelter.

Being residents at Shelter has given the duo opportunities to curate some of the club’s most interesting nights, and this might just have been the most captivating one to date. By preceding slots of Donato Dozzy, Rrose and Vladimir Ivkovic, the duo took the club as a blank canvas and worked towards a psychedelic atmosphere powered by colourful selections, custom lighting and a buzzing crowd.

The guys are always keen to put down something special and create something worthwhile for both the floor and the culture in a broader sense. Therefore we couldn’t be happier to finally host one of their sessions. Please enjoy.

This week we are glad to welcome the musical work of Daniel Kyo, also known as CØRE. He blends his passion for hypnotic music by producing beautiful tracks and by playing all around the globe from Tokyo to New York to Berlin. Some of his stops include Panorama Bar and the Primavera Sound festival. Originally from Spain and based in Berlin, he is a visionary producer and has been active in the scene for over a decade. Hailing from South Korea, Soseol is a talented artist active in various disciplines within the musical spectrum. He founded the imprint Manikart and has been active as a producer of music for labels such as Granular Spectrum and Amement. Moreover, our guest of this edition produced soundtracks for the films Doom Doom and Real.

But first and foremost, Soseol is a dj aiming to bring his work to the audience both sensibly and intensely, making his intrinsic self-expression and central message a deeply embodied facet of his work.

The set he presents is therefore a wide collection of captivating frequencies, hulking and hypnotic at times, endlessly reproducing itself without becoming monotonous, steady but never boring.

On this remarkable day, the Arkiv is excited to present to you podcast number 126 contributed by Hoedus. The Rome-based artist knows exactly how to deliver an unparalleled selection, characterised by a versatile approach where he explores different sonic dimensions and boundaries. Hailing from the vibrant electronic hotbed of Örebro, Sweden, Fredrik Navigare navigates himself through the ever-evolving labyrinth of electronica. This week Lindamann hailing from Tokyo has put together a truly mesmerizing recording for our channel. The rising Japanese DJ/Producer is starting to gain a foothold in the scene with releases on various promising labels such as Oslated, Lowless and Huinali. All definitely worth checking out. This week we are proud to feature the work of Forest on Stasys, an Argentinian artist influenced by tribal minimalist techno, as well as some of the more abstract strains of sound. The true distinguishability of his sound is characterized by a continual integration of sonorous and mesmerizing landscapes. As he himself describes it, this tendency has come naturally due to his admiration for drone and ambient tracks marked by strong melancholy.

In addition to leading Danza Nativa and releasing numerous intelligent EP's, it should be mentioned that earlier this year his work has become part of a compilation in support of the ongoing anti-government protestors in Chili. La Furia Del Pueblo ("the fury of the people") is a 54-track techno album featuring the likes of Voiski, Perc, Oscar Mulero, Anthony Linell, Acronym, Umwelt and more.

We have been eager to feature this unique recording that is supremely aligned to our initial vision and hope you enjoy.
