They are Frank Cueto and Rusty Belicek. Together they form the funky and eclectic duo known as All Good Funk Alliance and we're very excited to have them in The Armory this week. Press play. Get down. 

"I wanted to represent what we did, do and are into", says Rusty. "I wanted to have midtempo breaks, ghetto funk, moombahton, hip hop, funk and everything that makes our sound unique. Hopefully people feel it.. I used some DC artists to give them some shine and even a twerk tune because that's what I like.. straight vibes." 

Made up of Frank Cueto and Rusty Belicek, All Good Funk Alliance has opened up for the legendary James Brown, written songs for Coca-Cola and appeared on the Breakspoll Top 50 list. In other words, these guys are no strangers to the funk. And while their musical tastes range the gamut, when Frank and Rusty join forces the end result is always the same: they deliver a sound that is funky, fun and fresh. 

All Good Funk Alliance has long been lauded by critics and fans alike, and DJs looking to inject flavor into their sets invariably seek out that unmistakable AGFA sound. Their remix of big band legend Woody Herman's track, "Mambo Herd," was met with critical acclaim, and the boys recently signed a major remix deal to put their indelible, funk-infused spin on Kraak and Smaak's hit album “Plastic People." When AGFA's release, "REC," dropped in 2007, Properly Chilled described it as "modern funk mixing the best of hip hop and funk [with] lots of percussion breakdowns." Turntable Lab has also raved about the duo's sound, summing it up as: “continually hitting the head-nodding nape." 

Since 1999, All Good Funk Alliance has released music on a host of labels, including its own heavyweights: Funk Weapons, Super Hi-Fi Recordings and Baffin Island Beat Brigade. Frank and Rusty have played at clubs and festivals around the globe—from Canada to Australia—and the pair has even opened up for the iconic godfather of soul himself, James Brown.

When the All Good Funk Alliance & Qdup boys sent me their dope "Rhythm Is The Master” remix they asked if I’d be interested in doing my own remix as well. 

I had just returned from Paris and remembered that I had found a copy on 12” at Betino’s record store whilst there.

So I decided that I would remix the b-side, so I grabbed a pile of records and went to work.

Copycat - Time To Rhyme (Copycat Remix) PLUS T-SHIRT

Many years ago I started making music by cutting sounds together on a cassette tape deck recorder, otherwise known as pause mixing . 
I recently found the same cassette recorder machine in a second hand store, so I thought it would be a challenge to see if I could create an old skool pause mix again. 
This mix was made entirely on cassette using vinyl with no computer!

Downloads are open.. thank you to our fans and friends, if you can go out and purchase a Mass Production album and let them amaze you, or Moodymann both did great music that still resonates. 

We got this idea from the classic Moodymann release "Music People". We loved that sample but wanted to flip it in a more breakish way, we ended up somewhere between breaks house and nu-disco. Hopefully you dig it..
