This is the full recording of my set at Field Maneuvres near Oxford. I was over the moon to be asked to play in the Field Moves tent run by the Night Moves posse and top eggs Jade Seatle and Jane Fitz. The tent ran from Friday evening all the way through till late Sunday. Incredible stuff end to end and some amazing sets by some great DJs supported by lots of lovely people there to DANCE.

Matt Pond is a man who understands that the gulf in hierarchy between DJs at the top and bottom of the food chain is as vast as it’s ever been. Despite or maybe because of this, Matt Pond is one of those guys who has picked substance over style: modest and demure in his demeanour, you only have to scratch the surface to realise he’s a seasoned professional who’s been in the business for decades. He’s a humble individual who sees past the glittery awards and their accompanying hubris and has stayed loyal to his loyal stalwarts of underground culture.

Matt created Deepsystems, a party, a radio show and a moniker, which has beamed out endless heartfelt sounds worldwide for many a year, weaving his own story that emits emotion, groove, funk and pure future soul. If you've not heard Matt's music before, i can only say that here is an individual
who will not settle for anything but the very best.
A DJ at the top of his game, with a unique deep style, that favours musicality and substance and in my eyes up there as one of the very best in the world, hands down.

I played a 3 hour set for Secret Ingredient at Tola in Peckham this month but unfortunately the live recording failed after about 5 tracks in. I was still fresh from the party and decided to recreate the set but condensed into 80 minutes. The first 5 tracks mirror how I started but this time I ventured off on a different path, using a few records that featured on the night and some that I didn't get chance to play. 

Hopefully I've captured the energy of what was a really fun party. It's rare I get chance to record mixes these days so I hope you all enjoy!

In 2016 For Those That Knoe initiated an acclaimed series of EPs which showcased unheard material alongside some long lost vinyl only classics from Derek's archive. Cut to now and the imprint has put together something truly special: a raid on dusty record shelves have been traded for one into the binary world, For Those That Knoe has selected 17 recordings only previously available on the digital format or previously unreleased, now remastered and pressed onto physical form.
