🍁 "Seasons" is part of the Chillhop Essentials - Fall 2021 compilation.

🍂 This is the first song released after taking a 3-month break away from music. It resembles the feeling of the "in-between" - for me that's living a life between two countries (Netherlands & Australia). 
I also absolutely love the transitional period between seasons, especially summer to fall. Lastly, "Seasons" is a song that has lived on both FL Studio and Ableton, and helped me transitioning to a new platform, and is the first song I actually finished on Ableton. Yes, I know - that took me about 3 years 😅

It's impossible to pick a favorite season, but the mood of Fall is always so welcoming. A nice cup of tea and some falling leaves. A cozy sweater and a bon fire with friends. Some pumpkin cider or some hot coffee. On a nice Fall day, everything feels right.

Here to keep the autumnal vibes alive, we present 30 new tracks from some of our favorite musicians and beatmakers in the Chillhop community. With 44 artists assisting across 30 tracks, Essentials Fall 2023 is our biggest release yet! A 2xLP to keep you afloat as the seasons change from hot to warm to cool. As the nights grow a bit longer and we prepare to hunker indoors for the cold months ahead. 

Featuring Chillhop familiars like Ian Ewing, Psalm Trees, L'Indécis, The Doppelgangaz, Arbour, SwuM, Evil Needle, Aso, and so many others, while also featuring new additions to the growign family, like Wowflower, Rose Noir, and Jay Prince.

We hope you enjoy these 66 minutes of jazzy beats, lofi instrumentals, chill hip-hop. You might call it downtempo, or trip-hop, or ambient/electronic. We don't really care. If the vibes are right (and they are) we hope you call it Chillhop. A new season is officially here, so dig up your hoodie and pour some dark roast as you listen to this warmly curated compilation.

Flo Badabum is one of the standout figures of the blossoming hip hop scene, and he’s back with his track "College Love." The German producer often impresses with his hard-hitting, gritty production. His music, infused with that 90’s flavor, captivates millions of listeners. This track, however, is lighter than what Flo usually delivers—and we love it. It’s a lo-fi gem with soothing violin and synth notes. We admire the versatility, and we’re kicking back to enjoy it.

From Scratch is the new ten song album between Psalm Trees and ALEXANDER. This half-hour listening experience samples and reworks the duo's new jazz album, Spirit of Naima. Treating the live instrumentation as a playground for sample flipping, the two have crafted both a jazz album and a jazzhop album.
