Forward Disco Residents: Sean Cormac & Chili Davis

For the last voyage of Carried Away’s inaugural season, we’re taking it back to the essence. Two of New York City’s soulful house music giants, veterans who helped establish the art form in its earliest years, will be taking us guiding us along the beautiful New York Harbor. 

Queens’ own Roger Sanchez has been a sought-after selector since the late 80s, responsible for tracks like “Luv Dancin” and an official remix of Michael Jackon’s “Don’t Stop ‘Til You Get Enough”. His Release Yourself Radio series was groundbreaking for electronic music podcasts when it debuted in 2007, and he’s a four-time DJ Awards winner in the genre of house. Hector Romero, key member of the Def Mix collective and founder of SAW.RECORDINGS, started off as a child prodigy DJ rocking hip-hop sets in the Bronx. He blossomed into one of house and techno’s most influential tastemakers, a staple at festivals, revered for his Undulation mix series.  Sean Cormac and Chili Davis will join the party, bringing their own deep NYC roots. Their Forward Disco brand has been a staple of New York nightlife for the last five plus years.

After kicking off the fall with Tommy Bones and Saliva Commandos in October, the Forward Disco fall season at Cielo continues on November 19, with one of our favorite artists, Def Mix's own Hector Romero.

We had a great time getting Carried Away with Hector and Roger Sanchez to close out the summer, and we are super excited to give Hector the platform to carry those vibes into the fall on his home turf.  Joining Hector will be Forward Disco residents Sean Cormac and Chili Davis, as they continue to bring nothing but quality house music to the home of house music.

Sean Cormac is co-resident and founder of Forward DIsco. 

Forward Disco is a New York City-based event focusing on all forms of house music. Its roots trace back to a party in the back of a converted hair salon and over time lead to an opportunity to fill-in on a Saturday night at Cielo. That one-off quickly blossomed into a 5+ year, monthly-residency at the legendary Meatpacking home for quality music. In addition to Cielo, Forward Disco has hosted events at several other venues - places like Le Bain, The Panther Room and Good Room. Forward Disco's  regularly welcomed some of the premier djs in the industry. An abbreviated list of special guests includes: David Morales, Tony Humphries, Danny Krivit, Hector Romero, Honey Dijon, Franck Roger, Mr. V, Kevin Yost, Willie Graff, Jojo Flores, Phil Moffa, Hex Hector, Todd Terry, Jimpster, Fred Everything, Rissa Garcia... the list goes on and on. Other notable appearances include the Def Mix WMC Party, Benny Soto's 718 Sessions,  Christina Visca’s Birdcage, Carried Away with Roger Sanchez, Brooklyn Electronic Music Festival  as well as, Good For You’s "30 Years of House Music Tour with Jesse Saunders". DJ Times called their visit to Forward Disco a “proper celebration”.

In addition to his djing and production, Sean is an accomplished visual artist. Sean's designs have been featured on: Defected, Carl Caig's Planet E Communications, Def Mix, Rawsome Recordings, Sound Warrior, Rissa Garcia's Nightchild Records to name just a few.

On Sunday September 6, 2015 we had the honor of playing what is arguably the best party that our city has to offer - 718 Sessions.  Danny Krivit and Sting International had the main room of Santos Party House rocking while the downstairs level featured special guests, birthday girl, Forward Disco and 718 favorite, Rissa Garcia and Forward Disco residents Sean Cormac and Chili Davis.  This was an incredibly special evening for us, and we cannot thank Danny, Benny Soto and Rissa enough for the opportunity.  Here is Chili's closing set.
