Atlanta based production duo Heroes x Villains is announcing a new EP and Trap music documentary in partnership with the premiere mixtape website LiveMixtapes.com and it's sister site ClubTapes.com.  The documentary Certified Trap traces the evolution of Trap music from its beginnings as a seminal southern Hip-Hop movement to its recent rebirth that fuses traditional Trap with electronic music - an aggressive new sound being embraced by music-forward youth cultures across the United States.  Certified Trap also features cameos from Trap icons Waka Flacka, Trap-A-Holics, Drumma Boy, Sonny Digital and DJ Spinz as well as producers who are driving the new Trap sound such as Flosstradamus and FKi.

Accompanying the documentary will be Run The Trap, an EP from Heroes x Villains - who the film focuses on as a pivotal force in Trap's resurgence - that captures the essence of the sub-genre's forward progress.  The first single "OG Choppaz" will be released, along with a trailer for Run The Trap on August 14th at 12pm EST, 2012.  All music and video content for the EP and documentary will be available exclusively on ClubTapes.com

"OG... the beginning, the genesis. Every trend, every movement has a starting point, a nexus; with individuals operating as frontiersmen often with little to no recognition until the predominant culture takes notice and sometimes, not even then.

'Trap music,' a genre notorious for it's high octane, aggressive beats, is the new buzz word in dance music circles. But it's hardly 'new' at all... in fact, this sound has dominated rap for nearly decade. Atlanta, Georgia has served as the nexus point, with producers like DJ Toomp, Shawty Redd and Zaytoven (to name a few) acting as forefathers for the sound that's been garnering so much attention recently.

As natives to Atlanta, Heroes x Villains understand and celebrate this history. This is the ethos behind their latest record, 'OG Choppaz,' a sonic manifestation of where trap music comes from, to where it appears to be going."

Having been the exclusive host to releases from countless Trap stars, Livemixtapes.com it's a logical step in their own evolution to help introduce the next generation and their new EDM affiliate, ClubTapes.com. The voice of Australian singer Emma Hewitt has ever been the leading light in successful tracks of several leading names in EDM. This time, it’s her own tune ‘Rewind’, taken from her ‘Burn The Sky Down’ album, that gets a remix treatment, by producers tyDi, Dabruck & Klein, KATFYR and Mikkas.

German duo Dabruck & Klein, big fans of Emma, transformed the mysteriou s ‘Rewind’ into a rocking peak-time house tune, with immediate impact. Portuguese project KATFYR, who previously remixed Emma’s ‘Foolish Boy’, was also invited to drench ‘Rewind’ with their unrivalled Dubstep sound. Australia’s rising star tyDi shows his vocal-chop skills, and delivers a warm, melodic prog remix, while Mikkas brings out all colours with a big-room approach. Four original remixes, each with their own unique sound.

Yellow Claw may not be a household name outside of the Netherlands but have a look at their youtube channel and you'll be hard pressed to find one of their singles with less than a 2,000,000 views. They take the newest sounds from the club and drive them off a cliff. The ATM or Amtsterdam Trap Music EP is nothing short of that insanity. Their brand new EP for Jeffree's starts off with "Kaolo" a eastern infused banger with mad dhol's from the start that turns into tripped out tibetan trap complete with monk bells and prayers. W.O.L.F follows that with a track built around a vocal phrase that never gets tired, "Turn up the volume, Watch the bass get them open", pure fire. "4 in the Morning," is another huge trap selection with a perfect rnb vocal hook. The drop sounds like a murder scene from an all cyborg version of Psycho. Yellow Claw rounds out the package with "21 Bad Bitches" their swaggest out players anthem. All these tracks are locked and ready to go, the amsterdam trap sound is a monster.
