ASEC is back on his self-titled imprint with five mesmerising techno cuts featuring remixes from PoleGroup’s Kwartz and Soma’s Temudo.

ASEC is a Berlin-based artist and label project centred around raw, yet hypnotic dancefloor-oriented electronic music. To Berlin via Manchester, ASEC’s productions focus on tension and release with tracks that build momentum and intensity. As a Producer, Live Act and DJ, ASEC delivers his driving and expansive electronic music vision, consisting of dark textures, idiosyncratic melodies and dynamic drum sounds. With releases exclusively on his label, ASEC’s tracks have acquired support from household names like Marcel Dettmann, Slam, Henning Baer and SNTS resulting in a live show debut at Tresor in 2020.

‘Small Collisions’ kicks off with elastic synths shimmering off the resounding kicks and crunchy modulations before ‘High Tool’ maneuverers between hypnotic atmospheres and dark, ominous textures balanced with ghostly pads and thudding percussion with emphatic frequencies. Up next, Looping transcendental rhythms, gloopy fx and entrancing leads peppered with undulating minimalism takes focus in the ‘F Brexit’.

Madrid-based artist and PoleGroup, Mord, Semantica and Warm Up affiliate Kwartz delivers a pounding remix of ‘Small Collisions’ as the carnivorous percussion bounces with the raw oscillations, fizzing, industrial components and dramatic machine sonics. Temudo is part of a new generation of techno artists with releases on Soma, Modularz, Clergy, Synewave and more, rounds off in exquisite style with a swinging interpretation of ‘High Tool’ fusing ripping rhythms, frazzled soundscapes and penetrating textures.

Spektakel EP comes with four assorted, yet unified tracks of mischievous and sly techno. Herman opens the release with jacking rhythms, driving hi-hat patterns and a shifty synth riff. The jacking characteristics are also present in Tittut, a somewhat more minimal track with slippery grooves. With Sista ordet, things takes a different direction, with it being based on a dirty stab sequence with vocal hooks, as well as classic dirty machine funk with layers of hi-hats. Rackartyg closes the EP with a rise in tempo, classic drum machine sounds and a hectic cunning synth sequence. Sly & shifty, you may rely on us..

Involve Records starts the new year with the 3rd edition of the acclaimed Nightclub Pros series, which previously featured the likes of legends such as Maxx Rossi and DJ Ogi besides young talents like Fractions and Chlär, always keeping the balance between old-school and contemporary Techno.

Label owner Regal opens the VA with a trippy tool, reminiscent of his early basement weapons but with a warehouse-ambience. 'Undisputed' gets straight to the point without hesitation and keeps the pace high. DJ Emerson follows up with 'XTC', a rumbling cut for peak time club moments with flashing strobe-lights, giving the Van Halen classic an ecstatic Techno twist. On the flip side, Tensal from the Spanish legendary duo Exium takes a deep dive into futuristic worlds in 'Metaverse', where a brew of chopped vocals accompanies the rolling drums throughout the whole track. Up-and-coming DJ and producer _asstnt from Madrid closes the EP with 'La Línea‘, an 8-min epic march characterized by a catchy guitar riff and groovy percussion, alternating to a vocal insisting on following the line of life.

For the second release on Roberto’s new Fossil Archive imprint, he teams up with Artform’s Jamie Anderson.

Technology is fine, but music production is a human thing. A social thing. Blurring those lines, ‘Billingsella Corrugata’ is an intensely catching, beatsmart roller coaster of nimble basslines and 4/4 muscle power.

This music is no flash in the pan – a much polished, low end, acid influenced track that does nothing and everything; emotionally invigorating. Warped out of your mind on high grade pharmaceuticals or not, ‘Billingsella’ is a hugely likeable track, way ahead of this years acid techno revival. A killer groove that could loop round and around all day and never get dull, Fossil Archive is already proving they have more hook than a fisherman’s box; the new bastions of techno.

Like Colin Mcrae on crystal meth, and hardly qualifying as easy listening, ‘Corrugata’ has plenty of grab, nurturing a deep, melody-fractured trip through machine-made music. With a pure dancefloor energy paired with a piercing with a hook, this latest collection of acid-plod techno production best sums up the label’s direction – you can’t fault it. Enriching its trademark, ‘Corrugata’ lords it up with anti-pop music plushness, preparing you for joyous leap, bound and bounce across the dancefloor as its bippy bop feel takes you over.
