UK techno stalwart Fossil Archive, aka Roberto, readies ‘Motionless EP’ this February.

Following his acclaimed debut album ‘Tungsten’ on Kneaded Pains in 2021, London based DJ/producer Fossil Archive, aka Roberto, returns for 2022 with ‘Motionless EP’, further showcasing his knack for crafting high quality and emotionally charged techno.

Leading the release, the peak time ‘Motionless’ combines pounding kicks and evolving synths alongside rousing drums to kick off the EP in strident style, followed by ‘Schwer’, an intense and highly hypnotic track peppered with glistening pads and shuffling percussion. ‘Trench’ dives deeper, heading for dark and twisted spaces with winding leads, trippy FX, and reverberating drums, before ‘601 Electro’, a dreamy cut comprising classic drum kits, oscillating tones, and rumbling low end closes out the release.

Founded by Roberto in 2015, the Fossil Archive label has released music by artists such as Voiski, DJ Rolando, Sterac aka Steve Rachmad, Roman Lindau, Robert Owens, and many more, including Roberto himself. As a DJ, Roberto has played at the likes of fabric, Tresor, Berghain and more.

Stephen Brown and Fossil Archive, aka Roberto, team up for ‘3D World EP’ this April.

Following his acclaimed debut album ‘Tungsten’ on Kneaded Pains in 2021, as well as the recent ‘Motionless EP’ in February 2022, London based DJ/producer Fossil Archive, aka Roberto, joins forces with Edinburgh’s Stephen Brown, an artist whose work has appeared on Subject Detroit, Djax-Up-Beats, Echocord Colour, and more throughout his illustrious career.

Leading the release, ‘Control C’ sees the duo effortlessly weave syncopated stabs, knocking percussion, and rattling hats together for a suitably trippy start to the EP. Title cut ‘3D World’ follows with dense, emotive pads intertwined into sleek, building arrangement, one for the early hours. ‘More House’ bring pounding kick drums under swathes of FX and flowing chords before the final track, ‘Travel’ brings the tempo down for a hypnotic journey built for eyes-closed moments on the dancefloor.

Fossil Archive, aka Roberto, readies the hard-hitting ‘Pattern Repeat EP’ this August.

Following his acclaimed debut album ‘Tungsten’ on Kneaded Pains in 2021, as well as the recent ‘3D World EP’ with Stephen Brown in April 2022, London based DJ/producer Fossil Archive, aka Roberto, returns to his label with ‘Pattern Repeat EP’, featuring four original techno tracks conveying his artistic range.

Title track ‘Pattern Repeat’ sees the UK-based producer teaming up with Kiara Scuro’s ZaaZaa, who delivers ethereal vocals across pounding kicks and squelching acid licks. ‘Bridgetown’ follows with hypnotic percussion and dubbed out FX hits for a deep tripper. ‘Follow the River’ brings pumping synths and rocking kits for a spaced-out club track before ‘Chimera’ sees Fossil Archive delivering an emotive, heads-down track custom-built for eyes closed moments on the dancefloor to close out the release.

Etruria beat's 017 release sees his founder at the forefront, Luca Agnelli, who is back on his own label after his latest track Dark Moon which was played by the best artists of the techno scene, and after being the cover Dj of DJmag Italy May 2014. 

Two original tracks, Orion and Cassiopea, plus two remixes of well-known artists such as Brett Johnson,who just released on Visionquest, and Daschund from Highgrade and Clapper.
Orion has an old-style flavor, characterized by a 909 groove and a bassline from an old 303; the main element is the Moog synth, that is addictive, melodic and hypnotic, that will lead you away through the atmosphere of Detroit. 
Brett Johnson turns Orion into much more deep track, playing with the main synth and making it suitable to afterhours. 
Daschund instead has a tech-house touch giving relentless and happiness to the groove of the track. 
The last track of ep is Cassiopea, inspired by the sound of Ostgut Ton. 
Dark and deep sounds will bring us into a subterranean journey ... on the way to Etruria!

Keeping the set foundation of the original, the Roberto Capuano Remix probes an intensity that would be welcome at any festival, club, or place where people can dance. Bastinov (aka Diego Gennaro) is a Venice based young producer and DJ, following his last year release on Etruria Beat he is now presenting a more mature work, showing his artistic growth.

This EP, the 19th of Etruria Beat Records and the 2nd release from Bastinov , is a path into techno and in its shades, starting from punching and rolling sounds and ending up with the addition of some melodic parts. 

Beyond the original mixes the EP is enriched with remixes from label boss Luca Agnelli, newcomer talents Toms:due and Proudly People.

“Pentagon" is composed by an alternated hypnotic synth’s melody and a vibrant groove which will bring you into your deepest mental journey.

Luca Agnelli's remix of “Pentagon" is a dub-techno explosive interpretation of the groove,  spiced by a dark triplets synth and an amazing kick-dropping that will burn up the dance floors for sure!

“Theorem", was created with an amazing and pleasant chord, a devasting groove and big-punchin kick made by analogic drum machines (as the vintage Roland CR5000).

The second remix on the vinyl comes from Toms:due that moved the track down to the “Motor City’s rules”, adding a massive and dirty 909 groove and giving a special reinterpretaton of the original synth.

A special digital bonus remix comes from Proudly People , composed by their unmistakable dark and deep techno sound,  perfect for early morning djsets.

Greek duo Bonnie & Klein aka George & Thanasis have been slowly making a name for themselves through a string of well crafted releases on labels Music For Dreams, Timewarp and Uber. This laid back style hasn’t gone unnoticed by Ibizan legend Jose Padilla who put their recent track ‘Carina’ on his latest compilation.

B&K are not only producers of the chillout sound as their debut for Leng testifies. ‘Singularity’ hits hard from the off with driving beats and bass under haunting keys and building percussion. A late night dancefloor classic in the making.

‘Ergosphere’ sees them flip back to their laid back roots with a more classic chillout sound...

Bonnie & Klein - Singularity

First track of 5 included in the forthcoming Supernova "Suite 58 EP" due for February 9th.

Their new EP, inspired by classical piano suites, disco and old school house, was written between studios in Milan and Florence and on kit including a Yamaha acoustic piano and Roland JP8080. It kicks off with the title track, which is a grand house affair with fine piano chords and epic intentions in its bold groove. The drums are firm and stirring, the synths are elastic but its the fantastic piano that really makes this a standout main room track. Tiger Stripes, who has long been a favourite on labels like OFF and Get Physical, transforms the track into a more militant, skipping tech affair with moody piano riffs and colourful arps at its core.
Then comes ‘Hang on Time’, a much more banging house cut driven by huge kicks. It’s fresh and clean, and with the off kilter piano subs and classic vocal lines it recalls a vibey house hey day and makes no bones about it. This one gets remixed by Moon Harbour’s main men, Luna City Express, and the result is something just as turbo charged and sub driven, but that has a more tracky, loopy sense of groove. Closing out the EP is ‘Above All Things’, another high energy, high impact track with loose percussion jangling next to space ship synths, intense drums and steamy vocal samples.
Overall this is a hard hitting EP stuffed with meaty dance floor tracks that manage to be fun as well as functional.

With a firm nod to the community, revered Techno aficionado, Roberto reveals the launch of his new record label, Fossil Archive and its first release ‘Prolecanites Gurleyi’.

Now, as we enter 2015, a new kind of Techno is starting to emerge as the soundtrack for a generation and Fossil Archive has found itself at the forefront of this celebration.

"I come from a background where most releases were traditionally cut at 45rpm, with one track per side on a 12-inch record", says Roberto.  "The music always sounded great, as it was mastered and cut to its highest potential.  Increasingly these days there seems to be a trend where a lot of labels are squeezing a number of tracks on to each side of a 12-inch record.  I want to go against that and make sure the music is presented in the purest way possible by cutting one track per side at 45rpm.  The label will release primarily vinyl, although digital versions will also be available to purchase.”

Stripped of that cheery outlook that can characterise a pop song, ‘Prolecanites Gurleyi’ replaces it with a life-affirming rhythm, driving home a groove designed for those with an acute interest to intonation and audibility. A definitive curation of deep, four on the floor with a clean cut approach to its percussive soundscape, each frequency is given the space and time needed to help advance an alive and kicking stimuli of Techno resonance.

Celebrating the sound of the moment, Fossil Archive reflects the true spirit of Techno, devoting its classic approach with a British accent.  This formal contribution to Techno is a much anticipated move, and already well received ahead of its first release.  Donning a party hat and Techno fist in the air, their first release has already gathered momentum with it doing damage at some of the worlds most revered Techno events.

This inaugural release will be available from 23rd February 2015.

For our next release, we have a very special cooperation to show off with: CASSEGRAIN & TIN MAN !
CASSEGRAIN are Greek-British producer Alex Tsiridis and Berlin/Vienna based composer and producer Hüseyin Evirgen. With a well developped sensitiveness the duo designs futuristic and dark techno sound-scapes with a strong experimental touch. 
TIN MAN is another outstanding artist and the second half of this collaboration. With his releases on Cheap Records, Global A and the Sähkö-sub label Keys of Life he proved well, how easily he can switch between strong classic acid and abstract, postmodern songwriting. 
The tracks that resulted from this very special collaboration, are exactly what you might expect: An ideal and unique combination of modern dark techno as it comes from labels such as prologue or stroboscopic artefacts and classic acid. Some of them aim directly at the dancefloor, some come along rather dreamy and spaced out.

This is the second studio collaboration released on Fossil Archive between label owner Roberto and Artform’s Jamie Anderson. This time we have a four track EP compiled to take the listener on a sonic trip through an authentic all-night warehouse experience. 

On the A-side are two tracks which feature the vocal talents of the Chicago legend Robert Owens. ‘Broken’ and ‘Bare Essentials’ are exclusive ‘warehouse’ versions of songs the trio worked on at Jamie’s studio in Berlin for Robert Owens’ forthcoming album ‘Naked’. 

On the flip we have a raw acid track composed with a classic 303, 808 and 909 din-sync configuration running live through the mixing desk with a spring reverb for effects and a Joe Meek for compression. Finally ‘Bell Theory’ explores synthesised analogue sequences with a deep hypnotic provenance which serves up mind-food as the sun breaks through the rafters.

Born out of distaste for the current trend of excessively hard and fast techno, this collaboration between Berlin based Roman Lindau and Fossil Archive boss Roberto from London, seeks to bring the groove and soul back into Techno.

After back to back sets at the likes of fabric in London, Tresor in Berlin and Culture Box in Copenhagen, the connection between these two artists was firmly cemented. This lead to their first studio collaboration ‘Nerinea Trinodosa’ which appeared on Fossil Archive 006 in 2017. The studio process felt very natural, with each artist assuming different roles. Their latest effort ‘Path to Enchantment’ comes with 4 new fresh tracks designed to tell a story by both of these exciting artists on Fossil Archive.

For those who don’t know, NYC-based Luca Venezia, aka Drop the Lime, aka Curses, has been a mainstay of the US avant-dance/pre-EDM scene for a dozen years – he’s also a larger-than-life figure, a kind of dandy-cum-party animal-cum-womanizer, but that’s not quite the point here. Under his Drop the Lime guise, he produced wild breakbeat music and launched the infamous Trouble & Bass, known for its raw warehouse beats and rowdy spirit. Then he created the Curses alias, which he uses to make more focused, dancefloor-minded tracks, some of which were released by our former label Institubes in the late noughties. Marble is proud to offer you his first Curses installment in four years, and it’s called "So Good". 

These two new tunes show the two opposite sides of Luca’s current musical identity. 

The title track, So Good, is a 2013 take on early nineties house, complete with sun-drenched MIDI chords, deep kick and bass and a linear yet tense and hypnotic structure. Great warm-up tool or early morning downer. 

Deep in the Night, recorded in Paris with the Marble crew is a disturbed cinematic track, coming with processed vocals, mental synths and the trademark "Ha" ballroom sound. Martial, nightly techno for the druggy hour : feel the pressure and get stronger.
