The small towns of Northern England raise a certain type of techno-head. When you grow up regularly spending three hours sitting on a coach just to hear the likes of Marc Smith and Scott Brown hammer it out to a sea of beetroot-face ravers at Rezerection, it shows a lot of commitment... It develops a passion, not for posing in the gauche bars of Berlin, but for letting yourself go and dancing like no-one's watching. And for Durham-born Lost Doll, that will always be the true spirit of techno.

It was the late-90s Birmingham scene that really shaped Sarah’s musical tastes. After hearing the likes of Regis, Paul Damage and, of course, the insuperable Surgeon, regularly destroy the dancefloor at House Of God, there was no turning back. And while her musical tastes have evolved, Sarah's passion and dedication to that raw, floor-focussed spirit has never changed.

Her DJ sets move from the dark, industrial and brooding through to the pounding and hypnotic, but wherever and whatever she plays, Sarah's selections are always guided by that true spirit techno - and her undying devotion to the dancefloor.

Roberto (real name: Rob Kirkaldy) is a London based Techno producer, DJ and Remixer. Considered to be one of the most exciting new UK Techno artists in recent years, he combines influences from Detroit and Amsterdam to create his own sound unique to the UK.

As a DJ, he brings a special energy to the dance floor that is the product of many years of dedication to the craft. Never one to let an audience get bored, his sets explore many angles of techno, which has seen him play at some of the most well respected clubs around the world, including fabric in London and both Tresor and Berghain in Berlin. His DJ skills have also made him a popular choice for podcasters, having been called upon to deliver mixes for esteemed shows like the CLR Podcast, Slam Radio and Electric Deluxe.

With an already impressive discography, Roberto has built his production credits with EPs on the likes of Rekids, Fachwerk, ARTS, Solar Phenomena and Obscura, as well as a host of remixes for artists like Jamie Anderson, Roberto Clementi, DJ Rolando and Shinedoe. His own tracks have been remixed by artists such as Steve Rachmad (Sterac), Mike Dehnert, Trevino and Peverelist.

At the beginning of 2015, Roberto launched his own Fossil Archive label. Predominantly a vinyl label (though releases are also available digitally), the ethos of the imprint is that it must not compromise on the sound.

As Roberto said in a recent interview with Data Transmission: “I love the fact that you can hold a piece of music in your hands. They are art pieces in their own right. Music is the product of many years of development; much like a fossil that can be buried deep underground for millions of years, until it is discovered. I wanted to ensure the music is of the highest quality, which means not rushing things.”

This group is designed to explore music and sound to inspire a visual perspective

From the family of The Science Of Sounds in 2010 came Science Label, a new platform of electronic music with its base in Beijing (China), founded by a bunch of music lovers. Science came into being as one of the pioneering labels of electronic music in China, creating bonds between eastern and western music scenes.

We offer an eclectic and open music concept, where we do not follow only one kind of sound. Why? 
We keep our doors wide open for the creativity of the artists. Every artist can be himself when producing the truest interlude between feelings and freedom and express themselves without limits, without frontiers. This is the indestructible soul in the humanity we have, and we call it music.

The soul of the artists that form this label with their productions and remixes have a point that has pulled them together, and that is their love for music. The artists who have released productions or remixes in the catalog of Science Label up to the present are Sistema, Dosem, The Parallel, Erell Ranson, Pedro Cali, Elliott Dodge, Aiken, Architectural, Life Recorder and Carlos Nilmmns.

Our projects not only focus exclusively on music, but also go a step further in developing, experimenting and fusing the art of photography and video with music, plus other artistic expressions. All of this is done in collaboration with CORE Labs at our art production center in Huantie Art City [Beijing, China].

Science Label has regular residencies at Moog club in Barcelona, where several artists have presented their showcases. These artists include Dosem, Sistema, Aiken, Miguel Arrieta, Lupen, M.Ross and Marc Frigola.
For the label’s first anniversary, we celebrated showcases at the Climax Institutes in Stuttgart, The House in Beijing, Own and Moog club in Barcelona and Insenses/ Bassment in Hong Kong.
