This is a particularly special set for me. After a mishap on the playa, I was on crutches and in a fair amount of pain. Knowing that my participation in the burn was severely limited for the rest of the week, I got up on the stage with the help of my camp mates and played one of my favourite sets in recent memory. Two ibuprofen and several mojitos later, I was dancing in the DJ booth on my one good leg, and carried that smile for the rest of the week.

Many thanks to my partner, my camp mates, and the oodles of friends and strangers who helped out before, during, and after this set! My body may have been busted, but my heart was full 💚

A culmination of an epic week (or more) in the desert, filled with high highs, low lows, ecstatic dance, thumping tunes, deep connections, serendipitous exchanges, and all manner of bizarre, weird, wonderful moments that are beyond words. Friends and fam, to celebrate my 41st revolution around the sun, here is my Rotations mix! It's a snapshot of the styles of music I'm really into these days, and I really took pleasure in putting this together. It's also almost exactly 5 years since my first time performing at a club (at F8 in San Francisco, June 2015), so in a sense it's also a bit of a time capsule for me. I hope you enjoy listening and dancing to this set as much as I did making it! I also included my first ever produced track, Kuiper Belt. Originally recorded in early May, but life happens...

Yaz  [Sound and Machine :: Episode 130 :: November 2020]

2020 has been quite the year... full of ups and downs and some major transformation. As we say goodbye to this year, we can't forget the most important gift it has given us: appreciation for who and what we have.
