Following his 2022 ‘Natural Selection’ EP and music on Comma Trax, Troubleshoot Recordings, and Draconian Audio, Scaefa returns to La bonne musique with three nostalgic club cuts. 

“I spent a lot of time listening to 90s trance and UK jungle/hardcore pirate radio mixes whilst making these tunes, and the result is an amalgam of breaks/techno/trance and ambient moments. This project is nostalgic 
musically and emotionally, with the tracks made in a period of my life spent looking back/reflecting on the past. I find the music to be both euphoric and melancholic at times.” - Scaefa. 

‘Symbiosis’ opens up Scaefa’s ‘Ambrosia’ EP with mysterious swirling synths, anticipation building before culminating into a racy Reese bass finish, this is before ‘Locate’ continues with more breakbeats which 
carefully carve and slice their way through rich melodies and vibrant stabs. 

The title track is up next, pads swelling in the background as pitched-up vocals and a subtle 303 complement its fast-paced jungle drums. 

La bonne musique co-founder n_o, formerly known as bad internet, closes out the release, turning ‘Locate’ into a retro acid techno and house hybrid complete with exhilarating stabs and organic rhythm.

Klasse Wrecks & Kid Who launch .NFO, a series of records showcasing previously unreleased house, techno, acid and more from the 90s Amiga Demoscene.

Created using early sample sequencers such as ProTracker, these tracks radiate the authentic energy of techno’s golden era - and they’ve been hiding in plain sight in Demoscene web repositories for many years. It was during the long days of the 2020 lockdowns that Kid Who began to explore these archives, sifting through thousands of tracks to eventually amass a collection of several hundred of his favourites. Curated by Klasse Wrecks and Kid Who in close collaboration with the talented artists behind them, the .NFO project aims to bring some of these finds to the broader dance music community via a series of VA 12”s and mixes.

Rogue Planet is about feeling like an “other,” like a planet ejected by its host planetary system. It is a personal journey encapsulating Shamanta’s South Asian roots and influences. Visuals are by internationally-known artist & muse Rajni Perera, “a painter and sculptor known for exploring how power works through the imagery of science fiction.” 

The album reflects Shamanta’s early life experience as a South Asian immigrant who has journeyed from the Middle East to North America, living in several different cities along the way. Adapting spiritual influences of the past, it seeks to preserve cultural relics in a future unknown. It features her 90-year-old aunt’s Indian Carnatic vocals along with hers, connecting the generational gap.

tradition was born from two individuals forging an identity in the studio that consisted of a heads down approach and a love of machines.

Taking inspiration from their ‘live run’ studio recordings, the duo of Matt Domino and Norris Raider have built a sound that resonates on many levels and is rooted in a ‘hands on’ approach to creativity, traditionally speaking of course.

‘Slip’: adventuring into vintage Detroit systems with razor arps, dubbed out chords, insistent bass and heavy acid hypnosis.

‘Switchblade’: emerging from the underworld ready to slash and scar with scuttling beats and contorted bass that may have you dancing, or hiding behind your hoodie.

There were a number of memories of which he felt to be missing, one day he hoped that they might return. There were faces and shadows which he could not recall, places he was sure he had been but could not place and moments in time he was not sure had been his.

He wanted to believe and know them all, as if he'd known them to be true and real all along. He wanted to feel the way in which they'd felt - that rush of whimsical nostalgic energy which left him longing to go back.

It seemed as though it was at the very edge of his fingertips - just out of reach. Out there in the great beyond.

London’s rising star Scarlett O’Malley joins the roster of Kerri Chandler’s Kaoz Theory this November with ‘The House Joints’ EP. 

West London born and raised Scarlett has become a highly praised purveyor of soul-infused sounds in recent years through her contributions to the music industry as a DJ, radio presenter on the likes of Rinse, NTS, Balamii and the BBC, podcaster, journalist and voiceover artist. 

Here though, we see O’Malley’s production career come into focus as she joins the roster of the prestigious Kerri Chandler’s helmed Kaoz Theory imprint. 

‘Scorpio Swinger’ then embraces a UK bruk aesthetic with up tempo, choppy breaks, bubbling arpeggio lines, soft chord sequences and an amalgamation of vocal lines. ‘Eyes Wide’ then rounds out the release, employing classic house tropes through the merging of strings, brass licks, sirens, delayed diva vocals and robust drum workout.
