At Four40 Records we believe thoroughly that remixes are one of the best ways to explore dance music in a much more in-depth sense. Some of our favourite releases have been remixes and this brand new full length remix selection of Patrick Kane’s ‘4 Shots’ original very much ties into that central idea. 

We begin our look through this high octane arrangement of remixes with a dive into the BWK edition, which takes somewhat of a minimal approach. We are then shortly greeted by some fantastic rhythmic drum work as the tune grows into a sublow grooover perfect for the late night ravers. Next, George IV arrives on the scene with his rework, slicing together jazzy piano riffs and choppy drum designs with a dash vocal mastery to take his version to the next level. 

Following this, Para arrives on the scene with his overhaul, this time favouring thumping drum punches and simple yet effective chord progressions, taking a gloomy-style of melody and the occasional electronic stab and turning them both into something very spicy indeed. We then finish our journey with the fantastic sounds of Shy Cookie, who does something quite outside the box. We hear a combination of major melodic manoeuvres and much organic sounding drum arrangements throughout, giving those vocal lines a chance to breathe and naturally progress as sizzling melodic dips and blissful saxophone riffs appear further on.

This is one of our favourite remix packages we’ve put together in a hot minute, with the variation once again being key!
