The beauty of the extensive Four40 catalogue is the fact that over the years we have been able to explore so many different areas of underground dance music. Today we dive into our more house-influenced roots as we welcome the fantastic combination of Ollie Weeks & Ben Rolfe for a tidy new single entitled ‘Lemon Sherbert’. 

This one is a certified roller from the jump as we first find ourselves amidst a moderately minimal display of scattered drum arrangements and charming vocal chops. Come the drop however, the whole vibe changes as we are introduced to a vibrant combination of both acidic synthesizer action and storming bassline movements, sending our visualizers right back to the front row of the rave at 3AM with a glass in hand. 

When done well, that little addition of acidic synthesizer designs into a track that already possesses a high level of rhythmic movement can turn a good tune into a great tune, which is exactly what both Weeks & Rolfe have achieved here. The combination of nostalgic synesthesia and lively drum bounces is in perfect harmony, which is why we are pleased to be bringing this one to the forefront!
