This week’s Local Selection comes from Dublin City Italo dons, Bella Festa. The duo consisting of Aidan Thompson & David Diamond contributed their warm up set in Wigwam for FKA.M4a as this weeks contribution to the Local Selection. The two hour trip is packed Italo Disco, Synth Pop, House, Disco and so much more.

Bellafesta is a project created by Aidan Thompson and David Diamond during lockdown. It is a celebration of all things Italo Disco, Synth Pop, and Cosmic sounds from all eras and galaxies, as well as a celebration of all things Italo Disco.

Over the course of the last year, the lads have thrown some infamous parties at venues such as Tengu, Wigwam, and Hang Dai Chinese Restaurant. A unique variety of quirky dance music is played throughout the DJ sets, with a few guilty pleasures tossed in for good measure to round out the experience.

Last year, they brought their synthy goodness to Geneva, Berlin, and Heidelberg to mention a few. They have been scheduled for parties all around Europe in the following months, which we look forward to being announced.

Bella Festa’s contribution to our ever growing Local Selection series is a taken straight from the dance floor as the pairing have supplied their warm up mix for FKA.M4a. Aidan & David have perfectly crafted this warm up set, steadily bringing the energy to where it needs to go, while shifting moods and sounds with great ease. Running through a multitude of synth soaked sounds, this brings us through a trip through the decades with plenty of arpeggios, acid lines & infectious baselines.

The sun is shining and this mix complements the weather to perfection. This is your Wednesday soundtrack.

Punctuality Mix Vol. 1 - Drua

Freshly moved from Melbourne to London, DAWS is already starting to make her mark in the capital. In her native Australia, she's cemented her name in the underground dance music and queer party scenes with her energetic, joy-filled sets that bridge her love of classic and contemporary house music.

Listening to her bright and punchy selections, you can tell she puts the fun front and centre; there's no room for seriousness and chin stroking round these parts.

This lightness and high-spirited outlook feeds into her own music too. Lockdown was the fuel to shift her focus on to production, and it was during these months where clubs were closed and events cancelled that she found a her voice as a producer and began to gain international recognition doing so. On top of original productions and remixes, which have been released on the likes of Rogue Cuts, Phenomena and Parry Talks, she shared a bunch of personal edits in her charity-focused ADHD series which unearth and rework some of her favourite pop tracks from the early noughties.

Next April will see her share her biggest work to date: a debut EP on Hot Haus Records which is primed for euphoric moments on the dance floor. As she gears up for the release, whilst keeping herself busy in the studio and gracing clubs across the UK and Europe, she pieces together a mix of playful electronics, bright house grooves and vibrant rhythmic excursions to get you through your working day...

DAWS: The 'Shine A Light On' Mix

As the new year arrives, we are filled with hope for a fresh start and the desire to make this year even better than the last. To kick off our podcast series in 2023, we are thrilled to have our friends from Super Sound Global join us and showcase some of their favorite picks.

Super Sound Global is a trio of friends, who developed their passion for digging and collecting records in their hometown near Lake Ammer in southern Germany. Since then they launched a YouTube channel and and a monthly radio show at Munich’s renowned @radio80000, in order to share their latest discoveries of forgotten balearic treasures.

For Loser Records the trio has curated a special selection of dance floor oriented uptempo tunes, featuring late 90s, early 2000-style trance, prog house, some recent releases and maybe, just maybe, one unreleased production of their own.
