Marela aka Mitchell Maher, is a young electronic artist from the sound east of Ireland, a DJ from time to time but better known for his time spent producing underground sounds in the studio. 

Mitchell first launched the Marela project in early 2020 to explore the world of underground electronic music.
Marela’s sound as of 2022 is shaped by dipping and diving between the elements of Techno, Hard Techno and Trance. 

Marela has made appearances in some special venues in Ireland with Factory, Waterford and Monroe’s, Galway being the most recent.

With inspirations spanning from Samurai Movies of the 1950's across Hip-Hop from the 80's, to white-labelled tool-techno records and Anime from the 90's, Narciss has catapulted themself into the contemporary hard dance spotlight with a flurry of furious cuts on Lobster Theremin and 1ØPILLSMATE, and now the German producer readies four synth-wavey bops of pop-techno and hardcore on Eurodance Inc.

Staying true to the Eurodance aesthetic, and following one of the year's most well received dance music records in DJ Heartstring’s ‘4 The People’, ‘House Of Pleasure’ displays Narciss’ love for splashes of colour amongst the usually-grey Berlin soundscape. Taking as much influence from the golden-era of trance electronics as it is the Tresor heyday, it’s gradual incline from techno to eurodance is completed on ‘Power To The People’; a cut of deep trance that touches the border of cheese whilst maintaining a headsy, underground appeal.

‘ADHDisco’ is a warped sequence of classic soul nostalgia and high speed futuristic brain-dance that plays out like an alien discovering Northern Soul for the first time, before the classic hardcore synth patterns and unrelenting kicks of ‘Lovechild (LOVE mix) lay the foundation for a soulfully transcendent cut of classic Chicago and hard-house blends.

Today's premiere is a breathtaking remix from AK Sports, as she put her own spin on Pagan's newest track from his mini EP release titled 'First Of The Season'. Sports does a fantastic job at putting her own spin on Pagan's interpretation of the tune, as she delves deeper into more melodic areas of the original. She introduces an array of chopped up breaks and slamming kick-drums too, making this remix entirely her own.

Pagan's latest mini EP titled 'First Of The Season' sees him release two killer cuts, as he welcomes AK Sports onto the release for remix duties. After having a massive last few months performing at Life Festival, Otherside Festival and Electric Picnic's Anachronica, while performing at some massive Index and Centre Point shows with his Leeds debut taking place this evening. It's safe to say that this has been Pagan's biggest year yet.

He welcomes AK Sports onto the release, tasking her with remix duties and she does not disappoint. Sports is liable for pioneering nu-rave with high NRG sets that explore a multitude of genres that range from (but are not limited to) beefy breaks, deep-cut bass and exhilarating blends of techno. This frenzy of sound can not only be heard throughout her sets but also within her immensely impressive productions too.

This remix is no different, as she does a terrific job showcasing her distinct production style when flipping Pagan’s interpretation of ‘First Of The Season’. Sports focuses on the melodic components of the original while encompassing chopped up breaks, slamming kick-drums and most notably, her own vocals, which goes hand in hand with the distorted version of the pads. This is a warehouse ready version of the original. Although conversely, it can be said that it is fit for dark, sweaty basements too, which makes for ideal, frantic listening.

IMOGEN returns to Sunil Sharpe’s Earwiggle imprint, this time with Ben Pest for their first full release together, ‘Volts’, out today. Over the four tracks, the pair showcase their diverse style as crossover the realms of raw techno and UK hardcore, channeling volcanic energy. ‘Shibooty’ is a perky take on Chi-town techno with cartoonish vocal sequences, humming bass and elevated funk levels. It’s a groover!

IMOGEN is a resident at NTS and fabric and has previously released on femme culture, HE.SHE.THEY, Lobster Theremin amongst others. Bristol-based artist Ben Pest has collaborated with Radioactive Man, made appearances on Off Me Nut, Riot Radio Records, and Asking For Trouble and released under the OverworX moniker.

After what's been the hardest year in existence for many people on earth, especially those involved in music and live performance, it's hard to imagine the reality of being homeless at any time, let alone right now.
100% of the proceeds from our debut VSN compilation go to Dublin charity, Inner City Helping Homeless (ICHH), who do mammoth amounts of work on the streets of the Irish capital, where there is an ongoing epidemic of homelessness.

With tracks coming from far and wide across almost every genre we could think of, we take a club night that came from very humble Saturday nights in Room 2 of a Galway nightclub to worldwide ears thanks to the generous productions of some of the biggest and most talented names that you may know every detail about or nothing at all; each track paints a different and unique aspect of the world of VSN.
