Ellen Allien and the BPitch community of techno nerds are thrilled to announce a second edition of the We Are Not Alone series. A 36-track compilation split into 3 parts, each consisting of 12 cuts, dedicated to the infamous We Are Not Alone event series and the best of Berlin’s underground techno talent.
BPitch and UFO Inc. creator Ellen Allien's innovative party series was launched in 2016 and remains committed to inviting an exciting crew of artists to perform at the 36 hour events, now in a new home at RSO.

The We Are Not Alone compilation features artists that have played at the parties, as well as those who will join the line-up for future events. The 4th, 5th and 6th parts include music by Ellen and established names such as Thomas P. Heckmann, Dollkraut, Francois X, Phase Fatale and Etapp Kyle. Rising stars Nene H, Nur Jaber, Stephanie Sykes, Wallis and Métaraph. BPitch signings including Rosa Anschütz, Shaleen, Matasism and Uncrat.

For this installment of the series, Ellen Allien collaborates with esteemed director and photographer Stini Roehrs for the multidisciplinary project ‘’AFTER DARK – Emotional States of Techno’’, consisting of a virtual rave film, book and exhibition produced by AKKURAT Studios, and the We Are Not Alone VA, which is to be released physically and digitally via BPitch.

Berlin based producer Estella Boersma announced themselves with a debut on Unknown to the Unknown’s Dance Trax imprint and a string of appearances in the infamous HOR bathroom have followed – including one at Crave Festival – generating a positive stream count thanks to their varied DJing style; floating between techno, bass, breaks, electro and old school rave.

Now debuting on Lobster Theremin, Estella serves up four assorted club cuts that perfectly exemplify the energy felt front-left at one of their sets.

‘The Wave’ is the most quintessential Estella track on the release – brimming with acid, breakbeats and warehouse rave energy, channelling older XL Recordings-inspired sounds and modern-punk electronic aesthetics. ‘Dial’ is frantic, stripped-back and raw - an angelic, colourful techno trip through pixelated palm trees and psychedelic sunrises.

‘Transfer’ drains the colour from its fabric as light turns to dark. Headsy, underground appeal blends with bouncy fun on a cut of wobbly 4x4 that sounds like something you might hear in a Chloe Robinson set, before high pitched-vocals and sped-up synths dazzle and delight with something that sits between techno, footwork and classic Chicago house.

Yazzus follows up her appearance on the Tresor 30 compilation with a new EP named BLACK METROPOLIS. Within its, at times, rough-hewn textures lies a core that explores joy and energy within the roots of black techno. In her words: "I want this release to be black and beautiful, to be queer, and playful, a nostalgic nod to the 90s but also reimagining it in the current times."

The Ghana-born, London-bred, now Berlin-based producer's research into afro-futurism, envisaging a path forward for science, technology and culture through the black experience, has impressed a deep vision on this EP. Yazzus sets like a cartographer, using her tracks to explore a technologically advanced world, each representing different regions and environments.

Human Error Processor introduces an ear-worming percussion pattern nearly swamped by distorted bass drums and a vocal sample screwed just beyond recognition. Perforated leads with a 150bpm four to the floor stomp, infectious and supercharged. Gluey synth motions soak in an otherworldliness, where industrious, mechanical rhythms map out futurist structures in all directions.

Metro City Bay Area exhibits a ghettotech soul, lean and bouncy - this part of the galaxy is an infinite source of fun, with the heart of groove at its core. Three Deities brings adventurers of its region towards higher powers, its ravey synths and an engulfing bass provoke a complete NRG release, ascending into a spiritual trance where dense melodies bubble and fizz. Digital-only track United By Fate meddles busy vocal samples with searching melodies, a fitting end to the kaleidoscopic that is BLACK METROPOLIS.

FJAAK In The Lab London - DJ Set @ Mixlab 2022

This weeks entry to the Local Selection Mix Series welcomes Tyvion Valentine. The Dublin based DJ and producer has made a reputation for himself by creating compelling, emotive dance music that encompasses his distinct sound. The same can be heard here as he solidifies himself as the 181st entry to the series.

Tyvion has seen a sharp rise in popularity among the Dublin house music scene over the last two years. Boasting releases on Plain Sailing, W&O Street Tracks, Zone Focus and Plaza as well as earning support slots for some of dance music’s most exciting acts in Mall Grab, X-Club, Skin On Skin, Effy and salute.

This summer also marked Tyvion’s festival debut at Otherside Festival in Slane, as he went b2b with one of Ireland’s finest producers in recent years, Pagan. That set was a big highlight of the weekend featuring two of the countries most exciting prospects. The pair make their return behind the controls this Friday as they go b2b once again in Centre Point. This time, they support DJ Seinfeld. Incredible.

Tyvion’s mix is a true flex that shows his eclectic music taste. Pulsating progressive house fused with brilliant sustain and release moments that pluck away at the tension built throughout the recording. Making for a truly moving listening experience. Dreamy.

The last release of the year on Apex Faction imprint sees label head Alan Fitzpatrick collaborate with prolific UK producer Boxia on ‘IHEARTPARIS’.

A home for Alan’s love of electronica; Apex Faction sees the Southampton producer explore his more experimental side, releasing tracks under his own 3STRANGE alias, alongside stellar productions from the likes of Modeā, Scuba, dj poolboi, Theo Kottis, Dwarde and Tim Reaper.

This latest single is Fitzpatrick’s first outing on the label since his debut in 2019. Alan is joined by Boxia, a Bristol based artist renowned for his releases on Drumcode, We Are The Brave and Kneaded Pains.
