Philip Rudel's pet project "Part Time Killer" brings cinematic music á la Tenet four-to-the-floor. Meant to split his evil and sensitive side 50:50, PTK showcases both late-night nostalgia and tracks you better not hear alone in the dark. This mix especially serves as a stage for many of the versatile unreleased tunes in his repertoire. Being a longtime resident and member of the label/party series "Selected Berlin" and having quickly attracted attention from many well-known labels, thus a rapidly growing accumulation of releases, we can be excited for what's to come.

MFC Records is a fundraising label curated by BitterCaress based in Montreal. MFC Records' fourth release is a Single Artist EP by KORVN (@korvn), called Tidal Waves.

The EP is composed of 2 original tracks produced by KORVN, a collaboration between KORVN and URUBU as well as 2 remixes by AISHA and Lifka.

With this EP, KORVN aims to raise awareness about a cause that he defends and that is dear to his heart. We are talking here about climate emergency. He says: "As we go through periods of instability and tension, the climate emergency is too often not the primary objective despite representing a global threat requiring political commitments as important as it is a major issue. [...] It's a cause that touches me and that I want to defend with this EP".

The non for-profit organization supported for this release is the David Suzuki Foundation, that empowers people to take action in their communities on the environmental challenges we collectively face.

After the crazy success of his track ‘CRUSIN’ which was released on our platform having support from TRYM, Franck, Mark Blair, NENE H and KEYO we’ve invited @shftr.uk back for a chance to showcase his indisputable talent as a DJ…

@shftr.uk Started his journey at the age of 18 when he was new to clubbing. Liverpool has a big techno scene and SHFTR happened to find himself in the depths of it. Listening to techno live lead him to feel emotions he has never felt before and thus began - the love for it. Before he even owned a pair of decks he would use only a DJ software to play music to his friends at pre-drinks and afters.

He quickly realised that this new found hobby was more than just a phase. He got himself a DAW and learned the ways of producing vocal heavy, euphoric techno. As he has aged and his skills have improved, he has started to find his sound resulting in a love for faster beats.

Most recently fast rhythms with bouncy bass lines has found their way into his production. 

His tracks have had support from the likes of Charlie Sparks and Mark Blair. He has provided ankle-breaking-beats in popular clubs of Liverpool, such as the WAV. There is a lot more he has to offer for the techno scene, so brace yourselves for SHFTR.

For the next edition of our Local Selection series, we present a recording of ROWDIBOI & DECADANCE’s peak time set at Life Festival 2023. The two Thump founders/residents combine their rave and hard groove influences to create an eclectic, hard-hitting hour of power, featuring fast transitions and chaotic fader throttling throughout.

For the 207th edition of the Local Selection mix, we present a special live recording from Life Festival as Thump residents and co-owners Rowdiboi & Decadance go full throttle on the Index stage. As the sun splits through the sky of Belvedere House in Mullingar, ravers begin to wander into the main arena as they face the final day of raving at Life Festival.

The Thump DJs were sandwiched between District 8 boss Moduse and rising star MELTX, however, the pair held no qualms for the DJs before or after them, as after all it is a festival, and anything goes down. In Mullingar, there are no warmups. Rowdiboi & Decadance rush into a frenzy of swirling hard-edged rhythms, beginning with a contemporary rave classic from Shlomo which sets the tone for a pummeling hour of hasty mixing and no holds barred style track selection, in other words, they played a heap of banging techno.

The mix remains fairly much relentless for the full hour, taking a number of deranged twists & turns, such as the hard techno edit of Calvin Harris ‘I’m Not Alone’ which comes bursting into the set at around 20 minutes and speedying over 150bpm already. The set isn’t all edits and rave stabs, as the pair fire through a number of heads-down locked grooves, from schranz to rumbling hard dance. The tempo’s continues to rise alongside the temperatures at Life Festival, with an assortment of Belgian-influenced weapons and punishing edits such as the menacing refix of ‘Partiboi69 – K On My D+C Feat. Juicy Romance’. The pair close things off at the ferocious speed of 200bpm, confirming their I don’t give a fuck attitude at a pinnacle show for the pair. Banging, to say the very least.
