Skankandbass is dedicated towards the official promotion of record labels and artists in the world of drum & bass music. Since inception in 2009, Skankandbass has unearthed some of the freshest talents in the scene and has opened many doors for unsigned artists. Now, through Skankandbass Introducing we release a series of free download singles which aims to spread the work of the best unsigned, newcomer artists who deserve more recognition.

Up-and-coming German talent Dava started his musical journey back in 2010, DJing around Freiburg before picking up producing a couple years later.  Now after almost a decade of honing his skills he’s finally broken out through excellent releases on Celsius, Transparent, Sub:stance and Four Corners, presenting his signature take on the funky, soulful and deep drum & bass.  We’re extremely excited to welcome him to Skankandbass Introducing with his most complete work to date, ‘Endless Spiral / Snake Bite’.

Our 19th release, we are honoured to present the second instalment of musical output from the duo known as Hystatus. Hailing from Belgium & England, they show that although
they come from different backgrounds, they are truly united in sound and their love for
Drum & Bass music.

AXR019, entitled “Patterns in the Sky,” opens with a nod to their previous release on the
label. Their expertly flipped VIP of ‘Another Day’ uses elements of the original, blended
with powerful basslines, crisp drums, and beautifully crafted melodies.

Second on the EP is the alluring title track, ‘Patterns in the Sky’. This dance floor smasher
is guaranteed to resonate across events throughout the summer months and beyond.

Third, we have the technical track ‘Spectix’. Featuring a pulsating bassline, snappy drums,
and both a half-time first drop and a full-time second drop, this technical DJ tool is sure
to captivate dancefloors.

Closing the EP, we have the ethereal ‘Between Worlds’. With Flower Rising once again
providing divine vocals over Hystatus’ haunting yet eloquent backdrop, it is the perfect
way to conclude this release.

In a time when the world seems to be on fire, Hystatus provides a much-needed
soundtrack to soothe the mind and soul.
