Italian duo Len Vitz and Charlie Iapicone debut on Hot Creations with ‘Playhouse’, backed by a remix from  Cologne favourite Kolter.  

Featuring as two young talents rising from the Italian house scene, Len Vitz and Charlie Iapicone are gearing up  for their biggest release to date following a series of EPs across recent years. Joining forces for the first time to  rework Ann Peebles’ 1972 soul hit ‘I’m Gonna Tear Your Playhouse Down’, they debut on Hot Creations with their  collaboration ‘Playhouse’ - backed by a stellar remix from Cologne-based DJ/producer and label boss, Kolter. 

“The EP was born by chance, an experiment which turned out successful. It’s a mixture of sounds and  recordings accompanied by a taste of vintage soul music.” - Len Vitz.  

Harnessing the original production’s resonant vocals and funk-fuelled riffs, ‘Playhouse’ brings a 70’s classic to  modern dancefloors as slick drums and slinking bass grooves reveal a track made for memorable moments. On  the flip, Kolter’s remix brings an additional slice of vigour and energy as he utilises signature chords and skippy  percussion to shape up proceedings.

Having recently reached Beatport number one with ‘Urban Shaker’, Manchester-based DJ/producer Sam Curran readies three new productions for Jamie Jones’ renowned Hottrax this April. Gaining previous support from Jamie Jones, Sidney Charles, and Franky Rizardo, Curran is back with another bass-heavy production that ensures an impressive return to the label. 

The title cut ‘Twilight On The Terrace’ brings rolling low end and playful vocal interjections that create a rousing club track, while the bumping ‘Eric’s Rumble’ showcases a reverberating bassline in true Hottrax style, paired with dizzying drops and wonky stabs. Closing out the EP ‘NRG’ harnesses crisp hats, snaking bass grooves, and moody, infectious samples to journey deep into late-night territories. 

“I made this EP in the hope of replicating some of the feelings I’ve felt on the dance floor with my own twist. The title track especially is inspired by the early 90s acid scene and the euphoric moments that came with it.” - Sam Curran

Jamie Jones's tastemaking label is back with a second volume of its talent-packed Hottrax presents Tripleution series, this time with Candidate, Lee Jeffrey and Hatiras & Javi Bora all featuring. 

Hottrax has always been an underground-oriented label dedicated to showcasing the darker side of the dance floor. This series does just that with Jones's careful A&R shining a light on the best talent currently out there. 

Candidate opens up with the excellent 'Sore Feet Society', a turbo-charged cut that takes you to the heart of the dance floor. It's a raved-up sound with rapped vocals that bring the attitude next to big synth stabs and sci-fi FX. Next is the UK's talented Lee Jeffrey who has released on respected labels such as Madtech Records and Elrow. 'Doin' It 4 Saz' has real swagger - garage-inflected drums that swing back and forth beneath chopped-up vocals and bright synths that are perfect for pumping any party. 

Last of all, Toronto scene pioneer Hatiras and Too Many Rules label head Javi Bora are frequent collaborators who cook up the goods again here. Their 'Raw & Dirty' is just that - a hefty house banger with gritty synth textures and weighty drums. Dark vocals bring a late-night edge to this most physical and high-impact of sounds. 

All three of these tracks explore different house vibes with equally fresh results.

Already a regular studio collaborator with Richy Ahmed, Michael Jansons AKA Jansons strikes it solo on the fourth release for Richy’s flourishing Four Thirty Two label.  

The “Mode” EP finds Jansons following up from recent chart topping original releases and remixes for Knee Deep In Sound, Lower East and his “Panic At The Disco” single on Leftroom, which is their best selling single on Beatport to date.  It’s a bumper 4 track EP, showcasing and encapsulating the many shades of Jansons unique sound, and bolstered with a remix from aforementioned collaborator and label boss, Richy Ahmed.

The Original Mix of “Mode” comes correct with plenty of classic house music chops; frenetic synth keys jab away over a rubbery, percussive groove for a sophisticated and energizing club cut, whilst Ahmed plumps for a real old skool flavor on his remix.  Chugging drums and a tight bassline give more than a whiff of classic Windy City house vibes on this killer remix. 

Two versions of “Colours” are packed with hypnotizing string riffs and bumpin’ percussion, with the “Alternative Mix” edging it in the more stripped down techno stakes, whilst “Sequential” find Jansons in disco mood, with rolling drums, string stabs and a deadly bottom end groove that wraps up a fine release from this burgeoning British talent.
