‘Obi 1′ presents a solid minimalistic structure. A stumbling bassy kick is seasoned with incisive sounds hinging on their echoes. Buzzing synths interlace with porous flares in the frame of cavernous reverberations, enhancing the rhythm whilst keeping the tonalities balanced. Murky spiralling laments bestow the track with a thriller sci-fi halo that won’t fail at raising goose flesh.

Bjarki is from Iceland. Born and raised. Despite the fact that Bjarki is known for making extremely powerful dancefloor tracks he doesn’t seem to belong to any particular genre. Something this triptych of LPs demonstrate very well. His music is at times cinematic and there’s a story behind each track. Bjarki’s music always has something to do with him personally, but he’d rather the listener lose themselves in the music than pay much attention to the man behind them. Either on a record or to one of his ever evolving live sets.

Б | Lefhanded Fuqs | Æ are being released over the coming months and represent a snapshot of his archive, selected by Nina Kraviz for Trip.The tracks were produced months ago, years ago, or in the case of the last track just a couple of weeks ago.What began with 30 tracks is now 41.The three LPs aren’t albums in the traditional sense - the concept being to release the contents of his burgeoning hard drives.The music might fit together like an album, but Bjarki doesn’t see it that way. It’s essentially an archive that sounds like an album but none of the music was made with this in mind.

‘’I think making an album is always hard, especially with all critiques that can be scary, in the end I just want people to enjoy what I put out without the music being forced into some category’’.

"Æ" [TRP010 | 28th October] is a particularly Icelandic form, pronounced “I” in English, Bjarki thinks it just looks good. Here it is a selection of music that is at its core quite simple, with restrained instrumentation, made on hardware. A selection of old works and the most recent produced just weeks ago.

The Fox's Bateria • Livity Sound NTS Rip

After offering up a free two track EP to introduce himself in 2019, we asked Circular Jaw mainstay, now permanently branded artist Hedchef & USA based Electro heavyweight Doctor Jeep to put a spin on Pluralist’s unique tones that have found their way into club and radio sets around the globe over the past year being supported by Jossy Mitsu, Darwin, Re:ni, Freshta, Nightwave + more. 

Since joining the roster in May 2019, Pluralist has been consistently in the studio mastering his craft across singles, remixes & edits & getting his hands dirty testing & trialling his creations in & around the roots of our labels stomping ground Selly Oak, Birmingham. With 2 EP’s under his belt & a steady schedule of gigs across the UK, 2020 is looking to be an exciting year for this multi talented producer.

First up we have a nutty contortion of ‘Gallak’ from professor Rayner aka Hedchef. This remix stays true to both artists signature styles with his use of fast paced stabs, aggressive sample cuts and pounding kick drums.

The second track on the EP comes from a huge name in the game Doctor Jeep. We’re very pleased to announce a 135 Bpm Electro remix after previously surprising people with this style in his track ‘Vault Of Glass’ released in 2018 on Etch & Bulu’s label ‘Bun The Grid’.
