Things Are Unstable (Live)

Here we go!

This been pretty much my August - Project, surprise surprise, at my parents in law place - (gotta give it a magic name soon, might sound more "dope" instead of P A R E N T S  I N  L A W   P L A C E.) Haha.
Nonetheless, as "we" already know, the workflow and especially also the influences and what outcome that might be, is most of the times unpredictable and i just let it go - kinda -> go with the flow!

I realized, that i never did anything "fast", so why not just go 160 bpm! Ha! And then it happened and it grew and after that week i had it pretty much done. Turned out i went mad with the drums later on and worked another 3 weeks until i had them where i wanted it to be , along with some little FX automations and little subtle details here and there.

What is this? As i am releasing this, today on my, yeah, 40th birthday, i thought like: "Man, does that not herald the dawn of damn? Right?." Just a little joke. I really hope, that no one will think about me like that, and if there is a yes, then seriously go f.ck yourself, for real! :) There is so much happening, still this global pandemic going and then... there were a lot of news about the lost war in Afghanistan and that really bad times will be coming again. A country, which took so long to gain for instance rights for women and so on, will be pushed back in time and space. And i think that's pretty much it. 

I contacted my wonderful friend John Bucknall (https://www.instagram.com/johnbucknallart/) and asked him if he could draw the thing i had in mind - and damn, he did it!! I am proud that he agreed  and he really nailed it. I spare sharing any additional ideas and other stuff.. its really up to you....like "Have the track, see the picture and then there will be definitely enough space for your own interpretation of all of this." 

And yeah, i am not getting tired of thanking all of you for your support, your amazing and mind blasting music you put on the cloud, which keeps resonating, keeps me going, keeps me so hooked to all of you. I am feeling more and more home with all of you on my side. I befriended so many wonderful artists here, i have the possibility to collaborate with some, and also exchange thoughts, ideas, vibes and the most important "love"!

End of 2021 i will have my third anniversary here on Soundcloud and i am not getting a single millisecond tired of digging all your stuff , liking, commenting , reposting and experiencing it with my all my senses and especially my crazy brain dick!!!! You are amazing!

22 The New Year

Wow!

Doing this with https://soundcloud.com/florian-luethi-59518579 really managed to create very uncomfy feelings in the first place..... I am very afar from the point where i would call myself a Keyboardplayer or a "Keyboardist", but that is something i really want to achieve some day. Then there is this Swiss Army Knive of a man, playing in a Band, playing in a Bigband, reinventing old classics, playing the Keys like a young god - how can you keep up with someone like him.

He sent me the first stem back then , i think in April 2021... and said that he want it to be our thing. There was a  toiletpaperroll kind of instructions which came along with it and music sheets which i really cannot read. Thank you, goddamn! AHahahah.  It is also slow, has various changes in timing and there is also a short variation in a part with a bpm change. 

Adding this into my DAW and setting it up was one thing, finding the right key to jam along with it and trying to go JAZZ was a complete different take. Holy SH*T. 

I prelistened alot this two milestone versions out there:
Thelonious Monk Quartet - 'Round Midnight -https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-yg7aZpIXRI and
Miles Davis Quintet - 'Round Midnight - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GIgLt7LAZF0, and while doing so, i felt terrible feeble and developed some slight depression torwards the thing which Mr. Lüthi sent me. I was flatterned, that he thought i can keep up with something like that, but also frightened AF.

So i did listen to his version and i simply was not able to do it. I gladly was able to work on any music, but going 42 BPM, sorry, i fucking started going idle ... so slooooooooooow!!! (Remember : Dawn of Damn is 160 bpm - so this track here is a bout 4 times slower). After many months i finally set everything up and for another few months tried to play something to it - progress about to be aligned with those BPM hahah....

Late but nevertheless, the inspiration finally came and while i tried to line up with this jazzy thing, Florian wanted the FY - Mojo and Crazyness, so he completely changed the whole base for the song and bam bam bam - boomarang!! We both hope that you enjoy this new version of a classic which has been re-issued about 2000 times! We are pretty confident, that this version is quite different... :)

Thank you Florian for the possibility to do this with you and all your patience, your super cool uplifting attitude and positive and constructive critic! Also pretty happy, that he allowed me to collaborate with his unique drawing style. I really tried to adapt and went full drawing mode this time! This was so much fun!

This is another demo from many years ago , recorded on a laptop with a basic audio package. Improvised on the spot & done in a few hours-in the comfort of my living room. I really dig the vibe , it's a cool flow of energy folks. My ever trusty Squire 60's Strat & a DI out of my old Marshall Valvestate Combo-those were the days amigos.
