Bio:
Music has always been a real passion, even from an early age, listening to the likes of Fleetwood Mac, Genesis, and Pink Floyd. He started off perfecting the art of mixing and blending tracks using vinyl and has been doing so on and off since the late eighties. 

Early Electro and the explosion of the acid house scene, lead him into the realms of the UK rave culture from 1988 – 1993 where he went to some of the biggest outdoor raves in the UK, hosted by the top promoters of the time which were Sunrise, Biology and Fantazia. London’s newly opened orbital motorway M25 pathed the way for the acid house raves. He was a regular at the Astoria Night Club, Charing Cross Road in London where Nicky Holloway ran a club night called ‘The Trip.’ The Astoria hosted DJ’s such as the late great Andrew Weatherall, Carl Cox and the likes of Fabio & Grooverider, Kenny Ken, Ray Keith and DJ Hype.

Although He has a varied taste in music, his real love is anything electronic. Deep House, Organic House & Melodic vibes are his forte. SRS has been producing his own tracks now for about 3 years and is currently working on a project under the pseudonym Lakota Rayn, producing Deep House and Organic House music. He would describe his mixes as deep and diverse...which can take you on an emotional journey.

Bio:

Mar io has been exploring the realms of electric music for quite some time, finding himself mostly in techno and house landscapes, with excursions into downtempo also occurring. Special emphasis is placed on the idea as well as the layering of groove and atmosphere, and Mar io's style is subject to constant evolution. Even after many years the learning process does not stand still and the goal is to get better with every new track, EP or album. Production is usually done with Cubase and digital, but the haptic and sonic edge of hardware synthesizers and drum machines always included.

The musical results of his journeys into the world of sound can be explored on labels such as Form&Terra Records, Broque, BluFin, Harthouse and Evosonic Records or heard in one of Mar io's producer podcasts, i.e. mix sets with exclusively his own productions. In the future Mar io wants to expand his own support platform "Akoasma Europe" as well as continue the way he started with Form&Terra Records.

Depth Perception Sessions #52 - Mar Io

Born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, @jorge-monti-209014490's musical journey began during his adolescence, playing various instruments in several rock bands, until finding his love for percussion and drums. He was mainly influenced by progressive and hard rock bands such as Pink Floyd and Led Zeppelin, respectfully. 

In his adult years he discovered electronic music and fell in love with progressive, deep, and melodic house, and proceeded to create sets that tell a story with smooth and delicate transitions.

Mar io has been exploring the realms of electronic music since the 1990s, finding himself mostly in techno and house landscapes, including excursions into downtempo and ambient. His special emphasis lays on groove and atmosphere, and Mar io's style is subject to constant evolution. Even after many years, his learning process does not stand still and the goal is to get better with each new track, EP or album. Usually he produces with Cubase in combination with hardware synthesizers and drum machines. The important thing is not the latest software or the most expensive equipment, but the fun during the creation process. Most of the software plugins Mar io uses are freeware.
You can explore his musical outcomes of his journeys into the world of sound on labels such as Form&Terra Records, Broque, BluFin or Evosonic Records. 
In 2018, Mar io also founded the Soundcloud channel "Akoasma Europe", which has since grown steadily and organically and has become a permanent fixture on Soundcloud; this is the basis for a steady and expanding collaboration with various labels and artists.

At  a  time  when  our  memories  of  sweaty  club  nights  seem  to  stem  from  a parallel  universe,  it  seems  just  fair  that  Mar  io's  latest  broque  EP dedicates  it  heart  and  soul  entirely  to  atmospheric  downbeat electronica.  "Twilight  of  Ages"  is  full  of  reminiscences  of  the  90s,  but rather  than  telling  tales  of  dancefloor  hysteria,  it  takes  the  turn right  into  the  adjacent  chillout  rooms.  Any  many  may  recall  that  the chillout  of  the  90s  has  been  the  time  and  place  where  soothing  ambient spheres  combined  with  an  unhindered  drive  towards  experimental electronica  have  made  a  long-lasting  impact  on  contemporary  music  by constantly  bending  and  blending  genres  and  sounds.  

After  his club-oriented  EPs  for  labels  such  as  Form  &  Terra,  and  last but  not  least  his  album  on  Broque,  Mar  io  shows  here  that  he  has  the potential  to  stand  up  to  the  likes  of  Plaid,  Biosphere,  The  Orb  and  the whole  Space  Night  posse.  With  "Space  @  Night",  he  even  dedicates  a  track of  his  own  to  Pascal  F.E.O.S.,  who  died  surprisingly  in  2020  and  who, apart  from  being  well-known  for  his  rave  adventures,  had  been  one  of  the driving  forces  behind  the  Space  Night  sound,  jointly  with  Alex  Azary  and Gabriel  Le  Mar  under  the  Aural  Float  moniker.  While  "Space  @  Night"  is representative  for  the  high  ambitions  of  the  EP,  gliding  through  time and  space  both  dreamily  and  playfully,  the  EP  as  a  whole  resurrects  the heyday  of  dubby  athmospheric  ambient  sounds  and  playfully  broken downbeats  across  seven  diverse  and  enchanting  tracks.  As  such,  the charms  of  “Twilight  of  Ages”  will  delight  and  embrace  everyone,  by  no means  limited  to  those  who  have  experienced  the  escapism  of  the  90s  in chillout  rooms  rather  than  the  dancefloor."
