Lauter Unfug releases a 12 Track compilation. This release merges the musical influences of the label and reaches out from deep and soulful house to Tech House and Techno. Every track has its own individual character and the well composed remixes underline that every artist has been guided by his unification to the label which has engaged in promoting them around Europe and the world. 
The label has also given the artists the opportunity to experiment and therefore release some tunes that sound different to what you might expect given their past releases, so be ready to anticipate some surprises along the way.

Christoph de Babalon is a German drone ambient and breaks producer - and we are TOTALLY obsessed with his sound at Houndstooth.

He re-released his 1997 album 'If You’re Into It, I’m Out of It' again this year (re-mastered) and its sparked a massive interest in his sound .. this was a time Roni Size won the Mercury and Christoph released a genre defying drone ambient jungle album .. but not many people knew about it at the time.

This piece of music is totally brand new – the same as all the other tracks on the IDDK comp 'In Death's Dream Kingdom' compilation we released back in January.

Christoph was very keen to be part of the project – so we decided to release the compilation on vinyl and have his interpretation as the vinyl bonus track !

“In short, the cream of leftfield electronic talent have been given a brief: to take the phrase “in Death's dream kingdom”, or the whole of TS Elliot's poem The Hollow Men from which it comes, as inspiration.”

For the third release of Cosmic Wave Records, commands are given to techno artist Vardae for a journey into planet Earth deepest borehole: SG3. 

Starting from Level 0 (0m) in 1970, the first two tracks of the EP emphasize the hope and curiosity that soviet drillers could feel when they started drilling, using uplifting and peaceful harmonies on pads conducted by subtle rhythms and groovy basses. 

As the journey goes on into the mists of the deep, Vardae vision takes the listener to darker places, using a nice balance of cycling rhythms and mental atmospheres, with a touch of sparkling acid lines. It is year 1989 when, under extreme conditions (180°C), the drillers reach the deepest place of planet Earth so far: minus 12 262 meters.

The four original compositions are packed with two remixes from CWR residents. KLI.M proposes a stripped back and percussive oriented remix of Level 0, Diapason takes the listener to his own deep, remixing 12 262, with dark resonant synth sustained by trippy grooves.

After the 2019 launch of The Gardens of Babylon’s record label we find ourselves in a very different world. Last year’s compilation was a musical snapshot of a physical festival experience with contributions coming from those who were there. This year, the compilation assumes a different role – a sonic journey through the times, memories, and loved ones we miss, as well as a sense of comfort as we look to reunite on a dancefloor somewhere around the world...

‘The Monastery’ 2020 draws contributions from friends and family, developing its narrative from the opening percussion of Menachem 26’s ‘Kumkapi Blues’ through the closing euphoria of Glauco di Mambro’s ‘Solar Safari’. Along the way, each track reads as a different chapter, transporting listeners to the sea of smiles that make up The Monastery Festival Experience. These chapters break down the weekend, encapsulating the emotions of its many facets, locations, and feelings. With ‘Light On The Road,’ Ali Farahani sets palpable anticipation, leading into the jazzy breaks of Gorje Hewek's ‘Der Geist Seiner Zeit’. Then, Maga’s delicately brooding ‘Muzike’ (feat. Arc) makes way for the gently rising piano of Parallell’s ‘Everybody Knows’. By the time, Derun’s ‘Los Caminos de Sirkedji’ hits, things start getting twisty, day turns to night, and ‘The Monastery’ is in full swing. From here, Amine K, Niko Schwind, Noraj Cue & unders, Dauw, Madmotormiquel, and Headwaters expand consciousness through mythical, hypnotic offerings – some low slung, some deep, dark, and driving. This is where resident VANDER’s ‘Can’t Get No Sleep’ drops and sums up the experience perfectly, interjecting fresh funk into groovy percussion, before giving way to after-hour vibes courtesy of KRAUT, Franca, and Sound Shapes...
