The DJ is a major highlight on local scene playing at numerous events and festivals. In addition, he is currently one of the members on CONNECT collective, a portal formed by electronic music lovers who come together to bring a beautiful content with weekly mixes and premieres through the more varied genres and locations that underground electronic music encompasses.

From DHI we had the opportunity to speak with DJ Joma, who is again on our channel and we will know a little more about this artist.

Tell us something about you? Where do you come from?

Biographies are not a thing that I like to read, especially DJ ones. Most of them come with the “I have loved music since I was a baby…”, “House Music was love at first sight (or hearing)... So don’t worry, because I’m not going to make it sound like I’m being booked by the Top 10 best Night-clubs ever every night. I’m not going to say how I only play because of my deep love for music. That’s not what you are going to read here.

What you are going to read here is simply how I am the DJ that you have been looking to play at your parties, your Cocktail Bar, your Beach Club, your VIP Lounge, your radio station.

By the end of this biography, you are going to be sure that my experience of more than two decades as a DJ has made me the best option for all of your exclusive events.

The fact is I loved pop music years before I even heard of house. I was a child of the Madchester era and still listen to some of it. I like Depeche Mode, New Order, Bananarama and Simply Red and I’m not afraid to confess I own complete catalogues of the Pet Shop Boys and Erasure on vinyl and my favourite album as a kid was for many years Erasure: The Innocents - I wore the cassette out, which made my Dad invest in a CD player for me at Christmas time.

The first 7-inch I bought was 'Never Gonna Give You Up' by Rick Astley, the first album 'Actually' by the Pet Shop Boys and the first 12" was 'Domino Dancing' by the Pet Shop Boys. Maybe this is not everyone's cup of tea, but it's who I am.

So how did I get here? Well, 25 years ago a friend put into my hands on a Sasha BBC Radio One Essential Mix-tape, and that’s when it all started to change.

I didn't want to be a DJ to avoid dancing in public, to attract girls and get free drinks, I just liked playing good tunes to friends. In the years since I've DJ'd out and about occasionally and had the best night ever each and every time, but I'm honest enough to know I'm not really a high talented DJ and I really have been lucky to see a few at work and I’m glad for that.

In recent years, I have taken my music to many places and Eastern Europe, especially Montenegro and Croatia, where in 2019 I was booked to perform for 12 nights consecutively at the the Croatian Open ATP Tennis Tournament in Umag within various Beach clubs and VIP cocktail lounges.

As someone who has been playing progressively for quite some time and also as someone who learnt with vinyl and now uses CDJ's, I can claim to know what I am doing in theory at least.

Although I have developed a style that suits perfectly for the venues that I like to play (Beach Clubs, Cocktail Bars, VIP Lounges, Exclusive Restaurants), what I value the most is that I am always focused on enhancing the overall experience rather than imposing my own style as an artist, and I think that differentiates me from other DJ's.

My weekly “Thru The Looking Glass” Podcast show seemed like the natural progression of what I have been doing, and thanks to the help of radio stations like Ibiza Global Radio and Data Transmission Radio, it is have developed brilliantly, and I’m very proud of it's success.

I am now starting to produce tracks also. With my production partner; stunning female vocalist: Moon Aton from Hamburg in Germany; we are producing some deep dreamy melodic house tracks with beautiful ethereal vocals. They aren't perfect, nor are they intended to be; but we enjoy making them and maybe some others may enjoy them too, lets wait and see.

Bio:

Hertfordshire lad and self taught music producer, Myles Webb aka Xspance, Inspired by film scores and uplifting music that tells a story. He is a huge fan of artists like Jon Hopkins, Ulrich Schnauss...to name a few. After discovering his style as a UK based Electronic music producer, Myles finished and self released his debut album ‘Night Echoes’ in Feb 2014 on bandcamp, He since has remixed numerous tracks including music from the album from Echaskech – Origin, one of which appeared on the huge Touched Two compilation. He’s collaborated with Joey Fehrehbach & Audioglider who themselves have made many appearances seminal releases such as Nick Warren’s Paris GU30 compilation in 2006.
After being discovered by Norman Hines Stripped label, Xspance released his sultry track “Disappear With Me”. And over the years has since released several singles, EPs and LPs over a myriad of labels - Section Records, Ant-Zen, Just Music, Stellar Fountain, Hydrogen, NYLO, ICONYC, Traumwelten, BC2, Mirabilis Records, Loki Recordings, Mango Alley, Krafted Underground, ASTIR, Emotional Content Recordings, Honeys Drops, Pro B Tech.

At the start of 2017, Myles also got the opportunity to host his own monthly radio show called Eclipsed on blooplondon.com with some great guest artists. 

This is going to be a very busy year for Myles, he is currently putting the finishing touches to 2 collaboration projects with songwriter and vocalist Daniela Rhodes and Joey Fehrenbach both long players which are set for release in the early part of 2021, so watch this space!

Welcome back! This weekend we have DJ, Carlos Chavez, who was born in Tenerife, Adeje, Canary Islands 🇪🇸. He began to take a liking for electronic music in 2007, but it wasn't until the end of 2010, when he really started making music his life. Lover of the underground and tech style more underground, he begins to make raves in the south of Tenerife, where he gradually makes a name. In the summer of 2012, despite having no experience he takes his first steps inside the cabins of The locals in the south of the island, after obtaining their first residence at the xitio disco, arrived at Arches lounge cafe where they had the opportunity to share a cabin with dj's in the Canary landscape. Participant in several events in Tenerife such as the magma meeting festival, in August 2012 he managed to click outside Tenerife, in Cancun (Mexico), specifically in Mamitas Beach Club where he received great acceptance. This same year he acquired his third residence at Papagayo Beach Club, where he is still in charge of the Sunset. What makes him special is his musical selection, which has had a great acceptance among the public, with a deep enough movement and very cheerful, with melodic touches and creating many times an atmosphere that will make you enjoy a magical sunset.
