Some improvisation I did one afternoon, based off of an Indian raga called Madhuvanti. This is improvisation in Hindustani classical style. The left-hand functions as the tanpura, an instrument responsible for keeping the tone and pace of the music. The right-hand...well, the right hand is the rest.

My first impression of this was to be reminded of Timothy Leary's Turn On, Tune in, Drop Out album. The soothing drone of a tamboura or sitar sets the scene for a set of three pieces and the titles Morning Sun Prayer, Lucifers Chant and The Wicker Sacrifice provide, I suspect, a pretty good notion of what's going on here. It's sold out at source and I'm not at all surprised to hear that.
