Methxx05 sees the debut release on Metalheadz from SB81 aka Nolige. Having built up an impressive collection of releases on a host of high profile dnb labels over the past 10 years or so, the time has come to welcome him to the Headz camp. His new alias brings with it a new sound and direction, and one we are extremely excited to present on our METHXX imprint.

”DITD (Dancer In The Dark)” is a headnodding monster of a tune,  bridging the gap between past and present, future x history, and between half timed beats & faster tempos with its clever percussive work. Chilling icy pads slowly evolve into warm string breakdowns and back again. A real exploration into the deeper side of modern dnb.

”Back To 33 (ft Shakk)” is an eerie darkside stepper. Analogue bass notes and oldskool pads bring the live kicks, snares and rides together into a most satisfying whole. Again, these are deep beats for the discerning junglist.

Each composition is within its own right a standout highlight. The track list includes a ridiculous amount of jaw-dropping collaborative talent. Credits for example see Jubei once again call on the vocal prowess of Flowdan for the LP’s massive follow up to past release "Say Nothing" entitled "The Moment". "State of the Art" flips the script at 170+ with SP:MC on vocal duties. Further co production credits on the album bring Jubei together the forces of Goldie, D-Bridge & Youngsta just to name a few.

Albums like this don’t come along every day and whilst some artists now imitate with sights set firmly on commercial success only a select few can originate whilst continuing to cross boundaries so consistently.

Plasma Audio are rolling this year. They've racked up releases from the likes of Icicle, Safire, Rido, Proxima, Cursa, Fre4knc, Kolectiv and Survey and now they've got a heavy remix single from the mighty Alix Perez. Sabre's track Yoga came out on Plasma in 2014 to critical acclaim and now it's got a whole new lease of life, courtesy of Mr. Perez, with two new versions.

Both remixes have manage hold on to plenty of the original's wonkiness. The Club Mix creeps along with an irregular pace. Buzzing synths call out and reply to each other in a conversation, which builds up an abstract sonic landscape that bulges and swells as the track continues. The Warped mix brings more space to the track's reinterpretation resulting in a more dubbed out feel accentuating the tracks sense of pace.

As a producer, DJ and label owner Charlie Fieber continues to be an important figure in the development and innovation of UK electronic music genres with a career spanning over two decades. As Fracture, Fieber’s output is prolific and never stands still. From the hyper sped up Techno sound of Turbo to the genre blending Footwork Jungle collaborations with Teklife regulars DJ Earl, DJ Spinn and DJ Taso. He is constantly experimenting and flipping the script and 2022 saw the release of the world building Ambient Electro album Omura with Sam Binga. Releases and affiliations have come from some of the UK’s legendary hardcore continuum labels such as Goldie’s Metalheadz, dBridge’s Exit records, where in 2016 Fieber was part of the mysterious Richie Brains supergroup with fellow experimenters Alix Perez, Chimpo, Fixate, Om Unit, Sam Binga and Stray, and more recently with Alix Perez’s 1985 which saw the curveball collaboration with Kenyan artist Nah Eeto. Fieber’s latest work is his most ambitious to date; '0860’ is an album, radio station and interview series that explores the history and legacy of Pirate Radio and its importance in the development of UK underground music.
As a DJ his sound has travelled with appearances on BBC Radio 1, BBC 6 Music, Boiler Room, Fact Mag, Rinse FM, Keep Hush and multiple US, EU, UK and Asia tours. 
In 2009 the label, Astrophonica, was set up as an output for his own music with Neptune and has since become a home for other like minded and experimental artists such as Sully, Client_03 and Moresounds. Fieber’s impeccable A&R has led to a flawless and in demand back catalogue championed from Annie Mac to Sherelle and with multiple nominations in DJ Mag’s Best Of British awards.
