Making his second appearance on the label, we’ve got a serious 160 Grime hybrid by Slinki entitled Baddin Up’. The intro en-captures everything you’d want in a build up to a drop, with stretched breaks style drums, a consistent synth and an almost fake drop that makes you wait that extra 8 bars for the punchy, high adrenaline drop. The drop also features a really well thought vocal sample and a squared off synth patch to deliver that gritty in your face hit that’s sure to get the dance floors moving wreckless

In anticipation of Defrostatica Records's Champion Sound debut, we are happy to premiere Sun Peoples break beat filled footwork jungle remix of "Talk." The Moscow trio known as "Champion Sound" is a producer trio who played together in a reggae band and then decided to form their dub and jungle love into modern club tracks. Neekeetone, Distant Roots and General Koondoongoo are pushing a sound within the Moscow bass scene that is tearing down the city's techno barriers for a diverse vibe of dubstep, jungle and footwork. 

With a recently released 12" on Berlin based label Through These Eyes Records and DJ support by the likes of Om Unit, Moresounds, J:Kenzo, Sun People, Mister Shifter, Mystic Pulse they are on their way to ravers worldwide. Look out for this release dropping on Defrostatica October 4th!

Across our tenure as a platform, we've been privileged enough to host a number of tracks from one of our favourite and hottest-tipped upcoming producers - 9TRANE. In the past, we've premiered 'Karbon' & his exceptional remix of Hedchef's 'Transparency Illusion', both deep, bassy creakers that bubble away nicely in the murky, UK Bass bracket. This latest effort, however, may be the finest of the bunch. Debuting on the essential, multi-faceted independent record label, promotional channel & online bass music platform Simply Deep, 9TRANE has come in clutch with a stonking remix of the ultra-talented J-Shadow's 'Modulator'. As a producer, DJ and label owner Charlie Fieber continues to be an important figure in the development and innovation of UK electronic music genres with a career spanning over two decades. As Fracture, Fieber’s output is prolific and never stands still. From the hyper sped up Techno sound of Turbo to the genre blending Footwork Jungle collaborations with Teklife regulars DJ Earl, DJ Spinn and DJ Taso. He is constantly experimenting and flipping the script and 2022 saw the release of the world building Ambient Electro album Omura with Sam Binga. Releases and affiliations have come from some of the UK’s legendary hardcore continuum labels such as Goldie’s Metalheadz, dBridge’s Exit records, where in 2016 Fieber was part of the mysterious Richie Brains supergroup with fellow experimenters Alix Perez, Chimpo, Fixate, Om Unit, Sam Binga and Stray, and more recently with Alix Perez’s 1985 which saw the curveball collaboration with Kenyan artist Nah Eeto. Fieber’s latest work is his most ambitious to date; '0860’ is an album, radio station and interview series that explores the history and legacy of Pirate Radio and its importance in the development of UK underground music.
As a DJ his sound has travelled with appearances on BBC Radio 1, BBC 6 Music, Boiler Room, Fact Mag, Rinse FM, Keep Hush and multiple US, EU, UK and Asia tours. 
In 2009 the label, Astrophonica, was set up as an output for his own music with Neptune and has since become a home for other like minded and experimental artists such as Sully, Client_03 and Moresounds. Fieber’s impeccable A&R has led to a flawless and in demand back catalogue championed from Annie Mac to Sherelle and with multiple nominations in DJ Mag’s Best Of British awards.
