“Bardez Tapes” is a collection of voice memos recorded on my cell phone from 2014-2019. After going through and rediscovering these different pieces of recordings on a flight back from Paris, I couldn’t help but fall in love with how raw & honest everything sounded. So I wanted to share it. Depending on how I felt that day, or what was going on in my life at the moment, I would record a small note to myself, whether it be a short riff on the mandolin, or a simple story shared by family and friends. "Bardez" in Armenian means "Garden". I chose the name “Bardez Tapes” because a lot of these recordings were made in my backyard at home. I hope this small, and to some, meaningless project, can help spark some inspiration. The beauty is in the imperfections.
