Energy meets energy. Emotion arises - the kind that clings to life circumstances and situations, practically as a saving grace in the big, wide world of nonsense. Deeper, driving forces point the way from sensual adaptation to environmental influences - as does the soon-to-be-released split EP from Chemnitz and Berlin-based synth-punk band BAUMARKT and Mainz-based NOAH VERT. PREMIERE | Noah Vert - Trapped [RÖ13] 2021

After a 5 year hiatus, Tel Aviv based artist Naduve, returns to Cocktail d’Amore Music with Hypogeum. Each of these tracks facilitates its own special part in the life of party. Starting off on a hypnotic and forward driven note Echo Wave Bay leads dancers perfectly into hypnosis with its trance inducing melodies which wave upward and downward. Title track Hypogeum begins to pull on the heart strings with its soft synths floating over pastel textures before giving way to the aptly titled FX Jungle, a deep trip into the low lying canopies of your imagination. Ending where we began Thursday Gem explores the same cyclical themes as Echo Wave but in a subdued fashion making it a perfect choice for winding down any raucous party.

Sirr TMO makes his Fade To Mind debut with a 6-track release: a perfect fit for the label's forward-facing club music identity.

She took me by the hand and led me through corridors of chipped red paint, stained carpets and iridescent decorations which reflected back the image of rotting lampshades and net curtains. Despite its unkemptness, this didn't seem like a place suffering from neglect. Instead, its appearance seemed to be purposeful, each patch of mould deliberate. Despite its strangeness I felt at home.

Following previous releases on Hyperdub and Teklife, LSD LAKESHORE DRIVE sees Sirr TMO take a step back from the footwork and juke iterations native to his homeland, Chicago. Nonetheless, the impact of the city's fertile music scene abides, this time taking shape in deep, squelchy low-ends (a la DJ Rush) and chopped 'n' screwed vocals (a la DJ Deeon).

He asserts: “I know the legends from the past generations. I work to push new boundaries while working from where they set the standard. Passing on their legacy is extremely important to me.”

Each track oozes sex appeal, teased out by low-pass-filtered pads and vogue-indebted claps. Our pick 'House Muzik' represents the EP at its most camp, with an ostentatious beat that squeals for attention underneath hi-hat workouts and vocals which sounds like they've been pulled from a footwork track.

Hex Editor takes the plunge with GODDEZZ through the portal of outer-trance escapism, where his music creates a glistening beautiful environment, and a place for a meeting of minds to flourish.

This event resonates with an emotion GODDEZZ has recently found, which harnesses a 'reborn' element, and Hex Editor has tapped into this via a vibrant pastel Ouija board of peace.

We tremble happily and thankfully for the juiciest remixes by SUMORAI, Sakura Tsuruta, SEO JOHN and Omformer. The work they've emitted harmonizes absolutely.

PREMIERE: Hex Editor - Blush [GODDEZZ]

The rickety old station didn't see much thoroughfair, in fact barely a soul had been seen on the platforms for years. Many had moved on from the surrounding villages, it had become a ghostly place with little around to keep inhabitants there. People never passed through here, there were no visitors or holiday-makers, but every now and then a mysterious train would appear; where it was headed nobody knew - a train to nowhere without a destination.

Subfield boss, DJ and producer Mugwump is back with a brand new album. Pneuma follows his previous long players Unspell and Drape, and builds on the slow, psychedelic sounds that make up his sound world. This time he aims the release more at the dance floor, mixing leftfield house, krautrock, dubbed-out disco and electro across the LP's 10 tracks. Mugwump's sardonic and alert lyrics take centre stage on the original cuts and the handful of covers, one of UK band Swing Out Sister and another from influential rock band Television’s Tom Verlaine, as well as a collab' with Berlin chamber music duo Ceeys.

I create progressive, immersive, and emotional electronic music, inspired by the landscapes around me. The track Genesis marks the birth of Sylix: the moment when the forest becomes frequency.


Genesis

27 Year old Menzi Shabane from the Umlazi township of Durban South Africa was one of the early pioneers of the cities now world famous Gqom scene, having rose to prominence as one half of the Infamous Boiz. In the last few years Menzi has produced for many of South Africa's biggest acts like Babes Wodumo, Moonchild Sanelly, Mahotella Queens, Zolani Mahola and Zakes Bantwini. For the last few years has also been organizing Durban's largest annual Goqm Bloq Party called Festive Road Block Umlazi.

Impazamo presents his debut release. A six track ep that explores his signature dark left field gqom productions that have been rocking Durban nightclubs over the past few years. Over the years he has crafted a unique sound exploring Gqoms textures within different arrangements from the genres usual track structure. The ep also includes a collaboration with Uganda MC Ecko Bazz with the track GQOM Tera.


All tracks recorded between 2019 - 2020 in Umlazi Durban and Boutiq Studios Kampala, Uganda.
