INDEx Mix #32 - Fragile X

Bricolage head @fragilex, returns for his first standalone release on the label since 2019's "The Butterfly Effect".

"The Great Brain Robbery" sees a continuation of his exploration of all things cerebrum based. Both in humans and machines.

The narrative that runs throughout is one of "What If?"

What if we could download our consciousness? What if we could upload them into machines? What if those were hacked into? What if they were modified?

The music itself is a series of complex and futuristic soundscapes welded onto sturdy broken beats and accelerated percussive transmissions. Electronic grey matter illuminated with flashing neurons and intricate, mutated circuitry, communicating with viral chain reactions. There's elements of ambient, IDM, techno and drum n bass scattered throughout this propulsive and dynamic journey.

Will the machines take over? Can we stop them?

Our third release of 2023 comes from Urgula. Following on from his much lauded "Frequency Wars" EP on the label back in 2020, the Glaswegian producer returns to Bricolage with his first full length release in the form of "Caustic Manifest(o)".

An album inspired in part by Italian futurism, the dark and hypnotic soundscapes on show here give privy to the idea of traversing through galaxies, planets and moons. With dynamic, pulsing and energetic movements, we launch from earth and are propelled upwards into orbit and beyond with a cluster of dystopian bleeps and alien-like atmospherics that teleport us into a hyper space soundtrack of serrated percussion, spiraling modular tones and extra terrestrial sound design.

This is club music for the worlds above us.
