Thrumming with and excess of pure energy that radiated from the fissures crisscrossing its core, the POWER CUBE hovered slowly through the endless scrapyards at the edge of the city. Its passing briefly snapped the various automata and machines that lay forgotten therein to life, causing their rusted exoskeletons to whirr with motion before the thermal energy produced by the POWER CUBE reduced their complex components into a molten slurry of their base elements. A lost spark that found itself as cosmic flotsam following the destruction of its former body, the cube wandered aimlessly in search of a new housing that it could imbue with purpose and power, one that could also withstand the forces of the reaction that occurred within it.

With a trail of unworthy vessels left languishing in its wake, the POWER CUBE came to the edge of the scrapyard, where the dunes of a vast desert lapped abrasively at the weathered remains that had first been dumped at this site. It had glided across the sands, further into the wastelands, when the ground beneath it began to shake in resonance with its energetic emanations. From the depths of the sands began to emerge the bones of a colossus wrought of crude materials that did not falter before the cube’s radiance. They coalesced around it’s core, the closest structures glowing red hot from the power of the device that now rested within their protective embrace. Together, both cube and colossus summoned forth the abilities necessary to take a single lumbering step, shaking the earth and resettling the dunes around them as they began their operations as a whole. Lacking a body no longer, the POWER CUBE expelled some of its excess energy and the great behemoth roared to life, it's earthworn and rusted body setting off into the wastes that lay before it.

The futuristic sonics of CURRENT VALUE make their debut on EATBRAIN with POWER CUBE, the latest EP that can be found within the artist’s endlessly expansive catalog. Within POWER CUBE, CURRENT VALUE delivers a masterwork display of his high tech sounds, delivering three tracks that are set to galvanize the EATBRAIN horde and the ears of all who might hear their alien tones.

Surrounded by a city that had long since crumbled were the ruins of a great arena, a construction of wood and stone now far removed from the reach of civilization. Knowledge of its location was limited, for few ventured into the wildlands anymore and even fewer dared brave the horrors that dwelt within the ruins of the old cities such as the one that surrounded the arena. For those strong enough to survive such ventures however, the arena was a place of honor reserved for the solving of disputes of honor through the proving of martial acumen, a venue for duels too dangerous to be conducted any nearer to the bounds of the civilized world.

Thus it was that within these walls two champions of the wildlands now gazed grimly upon each other, each sizing up an opponent that they ready knew far too well for their own liking. One, wreathed in electrical energies, hovered effortlessly above the ground upon a billowing, tempestuous cloud. The other, by contrast clad in simple robes and wielding only a finely crafted sword, shifted with practiced balance between a series of imperceptible stances. Though rivals beyond the arena, each bore the other a certain respect evidenced by the decorum they exhibited before the phantom crowds that hung within the atmosphere of the arena. Then, with naught but a simultaneous nod between them, the pair launched themselves at each other, dispelling the illusory crowd and isolating themselves once more within the confines of an ancient venue that found renewed purpose in their battle.

CURRENT VALUE & SCREAMARTS display their combined sonic prowess across the span of VOLTCOUNT, a collaborative EP that sees the pair of neurofunk titans synthesize their favored styles to create a feverish feast for the Eatbrain horde across the EPs five tracks.

The pods stood starkly in the shadows, the outline of each distinct against the insidious green glow of the harvesting chamber, where the evolved one endlessly milked the essence of these bleak-fated souls. Within each synthetic husk the occupants writhed in dark pleasure, far beyond the bounds of morality, twisting their bodies and riding the ecstasy of their unrestrained minds. The bio-integrated neurotechnology affixed to each skull delivered an endless stream of visceral stimulants, bypassing the conscious mind and manipulating the subconscious directly. Each brain mass swelled with the constant input, pushing against their very skulls as the physical limits of bone matter threatened the intensity of a stroke. Their pulsating craniums signified their readiness for the harvest, their ripeness for the primary czar… a soul stretched to its limits, drenched in the decadence of its capacity… fit to burst from its flimsy biocarcass. In readiness the first pod glided smoothly across the chamber, birthing its inhabitant into the overlord’s grasp as he prepared to extract her essence.

Russian neurofunk heavyweight MIZO brings his unique breed of darkness to the EATBRAIN fold with the SOUL REAPER EP in all of its ill-grained glory. A distinct figure in the Russian drum & bass scene who has also been known as a member of Gydra, the Soul Reaper EP sees Mizo returning to Eatbrain following a long period since his ruthless 'Bad Omen' collaboration with Teddy Killerz as Mizo and the 'Psycho' EP as part of Gydra. Through the five tracks contained within, Mizo delivers his unique take on d&b, delivering 5 tracks of powerful solo material that smacks of the label's breed of premiere neurofunk and incorporating Eatbrain veteran MC COPPA. Title track SOUL REAPER delivers the kind of orchestral epicness that the Eastern scene favours, giving way to a mean, brutal assault or truly sinister proportions. With bouncy but pointed sci-fi steppers such as UNREALITY and SINK (feat. Coppa), as well as the rich synthetic grandness of EXIST’s aesthetic and the hard-hitting grinder MONTAGE – this is an EP that delivers all of the intensely dark meat that Eatbrain fans could possibly want.

Fresh collab tune forthcoming on Mainframe Recordings sees DisasZt's sense for raw impact and Erb N Dub's rather playful approach to the rinse-out business come together in a perfect blend.
Hailing from Brighton, Erb N Dub has become a staple in the UK Drum & Bass scene, with releases on RAM, Technique and Playaz, remixes for DJ Fresh, Foreign Beggars and, not least, his recent joint with Krafty Kuts alongside Harry Shotta, which earned him heavy rotation on BBC Radio 1.
Likewise, Vienna's DisasZt, the man behind Mainframe Recordings and one of Europe's largest recurring event series under the same brand,  can't exactly complain about a lack of airplay these days. With decent tunes such as 'Vogue' on Viper, and 'I Got U' (in collaboration with Brazil's Alibi) on V Recordings, he has recently surprised his followers by bringing deep vibes and melodic sweetness to the table. On 'Stop', he now recollects the tried-and-true heavyweight formula he is known and loved for.
Dark and doomy all the way, meandering synth lines and bleepy signals pile up into a throbbing wall of sound, subsequently being riddled by percussive drumfire and chain punch bass hits. Armed with some extra nasty Rave stabs and bass sweeps engaging in call-and-response with that notorious Beastie Boys sample, DisasZt and Erb N Dub are definitely rockin' the sure shot on this one.
