Heralding from the Portuguese city of Porto, Fragz has been a leading force across its cherished music scene, one that continues to thrive throughout the clubs stationed there. Creating the coined term ‘Portostep', alongside his crew they invented a subgenre which pulled crowds of hundreds to the coastal city. Since then, he's become a member of Portugal's biggest electronic label ‘Yellow Stripe', defining the countries electronic landscape and becoming a renowned figure within the international community. Blending the toughened sounds which characterise ‘Portostep' with its more melodic feeling, Fragz has continued to release music on a range of labels, pushing his rolling bass notes through speakers across the spectrum. Whether it's PRSPCT, Position Chrome or Future Sickness, there's been a wide array of A&R support from the scene's biggest hitters. And now with the inclusion of Red Light on that list, his scope has only widened, creating yet more momentum for his ornamented career.

Alongside slots at Europe's biggest festivals, from England to the Czech Republic, his sets at Let it Roll, Decibel Festival and Hardshock have been lined with fresh cuts like this next EP for years. ‘Promises and Lies' ties together the aspects of Fragz production which have helped to propel him into the spotlight. The title-track features the grimy, gruff vocals of neuro stalwart Kryptomedic, beginning the five records with an apologetic sonic meltdown. Its slamming drum loops and flying beats are a foreboding look at what's in store. Disphonia joins Fragz for their ‘Blind' collaboration, another hurter that takes no prisoners with its crunching LFO. Fragz brings out his full force for ‘Eco Round' and ‘Hustle', throwing sonic punches with the battle cry samples of ‘Eco Round' and the clattering chaos of ‘Hustle'. Impak joins the track listing for his remix of ‘Eco Round', contorting the delivery into another monster, one exorcized by its clambering beats and wayward bassline. 

The full package is devastatingly powerful, drawing out the beast from Fragz production and highlighting how he's opened the floodgates internationally to the world of Portostep. Fragz is unafraid to pull his listeners into the city that inspired him.

Its the second year of VTO Records and to cap off what has been for us an amazing 2022 of growth, development, Learning and most of all enjoyment in bringing some of the biggest and best Neurofunk
Drum & Bass music the world has to offer we thought what what fitting way could we end the year than with an unexpected bonus release for everything that includes not 1, but 2 huge remixes we have been hiding for a while alongside a brand spanking new VIP that was until now unheard.

The very 1st VTO release from back in 2021 has been given the green light to be torn limb from limb and devoured by not 1, 2 hugely popular acts on the circuit.

Then to top this off Traced has brought in a classic track of his that's been given the VIP treatment.

“Paradox (Prdk Remix)”
We start the EP with this deeply haunting and disturbingly filthy remix of Traced’s `Paradox` track from the very first VTO Release.

On duties for this is none other than the amazing producer, all the way from the Czech Republic. Prdk.

Some hugely technical elements fill out the track. 

The zapping stabs and effects drive the track through and now it includes a huge half time beat after the main drop to take the track into a whole other direction. It's relentless. Its brilliant. It's a full on
Neuro slapper.

For the 2nd Remix we welcome back a due from early in the labels releases. The Dutch duo themselves. Anwer & Kapser aka `Binary``
In their rejig of one of Traced's biggest masterpieces they use the vocal and melody intertwined with their huge basslines and synths to create an even more epic hands, in the air moment with the breakdown. It's almost deceiving how tranquil and perfect the drop is until it's twisted on its head with even more brain melting twisted Neuro sounds alongside a visceral kick and clap to get your chest
rumbling even if you’re stood right at the back of the club.

“Here To Invade (VIP Mix)”
Back in 2019 long before the conception of VTO Records with Lee UHF, Traced dropped a huge Neurofunk number for free on his social media.

The internet went absolutely nuts for it and since then some kind of remix or VIP was always going to be on the cards.

Well especially for this release we have now finally got Traced to do that. And it was well worth the wait.

Rumbling basslines, rushy synths and the ever present and popular vocal puts us in the position of bringing you yet another heat seeking missile for the USB stick or even to just play for yourself in the gym.

Either way if this is to get the crowd fired up or you. It does the job.
