Framework Recordings is back with a very special, limited run vinyl EP that features five fantastic artists in Oliv, O’Hana, Blurred, Fred and Ground16, and deep house doesn’t come much finer. 

First up is the low key Oliv, part of the heady party collective Bedford Crew. His ‘Submarine Cruise’ is an effortlessly atmospheric dub house track. Sandy shakers, balmy pads and an astral lead synth line all ooze underground class. 

O’Hana is another emerging producer with an already well formed sound. His gorgeous ‘Lune’ is another prime bit of deep house with analogue kicks and hits, subtle vocal samples and cavernous pads that melt into the horizon. 

Blurred are a young Italian pair from labels like Lapsus, Safe Music and Hotfingers and keep up the cultured dub house vibe with more deeply enveloping grooves and dusty hits. The chords here are smeared in the background and sure to find favour with the more intimate dance floors out there. 

Then it’s to impressive new Swiss artist Fred for ‘MW.’ It’s deep and house-y again, but this time it drives forward on huge kicks, with acid lines and icy hi hats bringing the energy while yawning synths soften the edges. 

Closing out a tasteful package are Swiss pair Ground16 with ‘3rd Street.’ Cosmic in nature and with wide open pads, this house groove is another analogue beauty with warmth, smart vocal snippets and dreamscape pads. 

These are timeless deep house cuts that are deceptively simple and superbly executed.

At Sneaky Music we pride ourselves in supporting young artists and take great pleasure in seeing them grow. We are especially excited to introduce Ground16, two very talented and young artists from Switzerland who are breaking onto the scene with their second release, the Motion Signals EP. David Josseron, who focuses on production and Bastien Mouthon, David's partner in crime in the DJ booth, are university students from the small town of Vevey. When they’re not studying for their degrees in Economics and Media Interaction Design, the two are fine tuning their sound, finding inspiration in a wide range of musical genres such as techno, Detroit house, disco and jazz, as well as funk, lo-fi, grime, and UK bass. Their knowledge and passion for music is clearly and beautifully expressed in their unique productions. This EP is their freshman debut and these four tracks tell the story of two truly talented individuals with a bright future ahead.
“Motion Signals” is a deep, emotional soul melter with atmospheric synths and smooth drums, opening the EP with a mellow, bright vibe. “Kroywen City” continues with the spacey rhythms, but quickly picks up with a punchy, driving kick and well-accompanied hi-hats. An exciting, uplifting baseline mixed with heavy toms and a great synth make “Street Dust” a floor filler. “This World” uses wonderful vocal samples, a steady conga beat, and awesome acid house bass lines to drift listeners off their feet and into the dance floor.

After an EP on Creme Organization off-shoot Jericho One as DJ Plant Texture, Dona Basile now assumes his Dona alias for a new EP on the main label.  Entitled The V.G.P Sessions, it features four new cuts from the Italian, with three of them being DJ PT mixes. 

Up first is a live cut version of 'Energia', a bristling electro track with globular bass and coarse hits. Turbulent but full of synth based serenity, it is a fine start. 'Cigarettes (DJPT Mix)' is rugged and broken, with glossy IDM synths and corrugated drums all loosely arranged into something prickly and unsettling. 'The Deads At Twelve (DJPT Mix)' then gets even more fucked up, with rusty synths and blown out drums making for a dystopian house groove that will likely soundtrack the apocalypse. Last but not least, 'Nr. 13 (DJPT Mix)' mixes up Detroit synths, wild acid, heavenly chords and chopped up, buried deep vocal samples into something that will fire every synapse in your body. This is outlier stuff from Dona that sounds like little else.
