Part Time Poet, is the moniker of Joshua Spears, a 27-year-old singer-songwriter living in Sonoma County, California. After 12 years of writing music as Joshua Spears, Part Time Poet pursued a new musical experience, detaching himself from his name and going by what he truly feel’s he is, a Part Time Poet. Working fulltime to pay the bills and rent, while focusing on writing music as a part-time endeavor, encouraged the moniker to become a living breathing reality. Part Time Poet brings self reflection, love lost and found, fears and worries, and much more to the lyrics of his music. He’s been influenced by some of the greatest songwriters, embodying an Americana/Folk feel to his music but not living within the lines of any real genre.
