FRANCESCO PICO - Magnitude Mix 2020-01 PT2

Fabio loves listening to many genres of electronic music. Here he posts interesting sets that he finds and listens to while looking for new emerging artists and not. Enjoy.

Magnitude Recordings was started by @francescopico in 2005. The label quickly gained international recognition in the tech house- and progressive house scenes, working with well respected artists such as Eelke Kleijn (as Backroom Boyz, a collab with Francesco Pico himself), Ferreck Dawn, Roell Sapphire, Harold Heath and Camiel Daamen to name a few, which gained a lot of DJ support. 

After a seven year hiatius the label returned in 2018 under de wings of the @manual-music record company. Freshly revamped and serving as a home for the sound Francesco Pico loves most; intelligent, groovy and rolling progressive house. Kamilo Sanclemente, Not Demure, Ewan Rill, K Loveski, Golan Zocher, Callecat, Jaap Ligthart, Paul Hazendonk and Ric Niels are a small cross-section of the artists that call Magnitude Recordings their home nowadays, making Magnitude a brand operating at the forefront of the modern day progressive house scene.

Being around since the early 90’s Francesco Pico’s name is often heard in the dance scene. He released and remixed numerous tracks for labels such as @global-underground-ltd, @Manual-Music, AudioTherapy (Dave Seaman), Urbantorque, Briquerouge (David Duriez), Odori (Swag/ Chris Duckenfield), Extrema Music, Outside The Box (Eelke Kleijn), Proton and last but not least his own label: @MagnitudeRecordings. His tracks are played by many like Sasha, Nick Warren, Hernan Cattaneo, Eelke Kleijn, Anthony Pappa, Jimmy v M just to name a few. 
As a DJ he also managed to build a nice career; Being a Resident at Many Organizations like Earth Amsterdam, SOL Amsterdam, Rage Rotterdam and now Kadinsky Sessions Amsterdam, Playing all the big venues in his country but also some abroad and being a regular guest at many national and international Radio stations.

I repost house, progressive, drum n bass, and techno. But I listen to happy hardcore the most :)

From humble beginnings on belt-driven Soundlabs in the mid-90s to commanding crowds with his signature progressive house sound, Ed Steele's journey has been deeply intertwined with the evolution of dance music, his initials are even EDMS. This UK-based DJ and producer cut his teeth in the heart of the rave explosion of the 1990s, a formative experience that ignited a lifelong passion. Transitioning from decks to production in the early 2000s, Ed honed his craft, patiently sculpting a sound that is both intricate and captivating. He was also a driving force behind 'Fresh Out The Box', a beloved club night and festival brand that thrived for years, gracing the stages of the acclaimed Gottwood Festival for a decade. A chance encounter with D-Nox at Noisily Festival in 2018 proved pivotal, leading to his debut release, 'Your Move', on Sprout in 2019. This marked the beginning of a fruitful relationship, culminating in a full album, 'Killing Time', on Sprout in 2020, various remixes and a collaborative EP, 'Embrace Me', on Einmusika in 2024. Paul Van Dyke, Nora En Pure and Miss Monique all played tracks from the Embrace Me EP. Ed & D-Nox's recent remix of 'Uniqueness' by Tali Muss and Vakalbular on Holly Stone Records has been met with widespread acclaim, reaching the top 3 in the Beatport Progressive House chart, further solidifying his position as a rising force in the progressive house scene. With a steady stream of quality releases and an unwavering commitment to his art, Ed Steele's future promises to be nothing short of electrifying.
