In this conversation we talk with artist, traveller poet, and decolonial storyteller Aldo Ramos about his work on the pluriversity he is co-creating in Colombia. He tells about how he came to do this work, and why it is so important for the pluriversity to exist. Not in resistance to Western forms of knowledge, but as a form of re-existence. This knowledge is profoundly communal, relational and created by a weaving based on the South American concepts of sentipensar and buen vivir.

In the final years of the Soviet Union, how did the subculture win over conceptual and real freedoms? Did a trail lead from occupied houses in Moscow and St. Petersburg to the Afrofuturism of Sun Ra and Missy Elliott? Musicologists Giada Dalla Bontà and Holger Schulze trace the developmental lines of sonic fiction. They follow the mythical language around the term coined by Kodwo Eshun and explore the potential of sounds and their narratives as a liberating force.

SPELL SONG IS a confessional encounter happened under the light of the Full Moon on August 3,2020. Under that moon’s creative portal our intentions came together to amplify the signal into a collective one. Spell Song united voices, hearable and not, connected by the desires of transformation, resolution and healing through sound. It brought together text, voice and drones to expand a listening experience that goes beyond the meaning of the words, to unfold a metaphysical space made by presence, attention and coming together. Spell Song explores the interconnectedness between physical bodies, immaterial bodies and planetary bodies, re-imagining a poetic and politics of cosmological listening.
