Voices of a protolanguage, voices of instinct reactions, voices that transmit instinctive expression, voices of humans and birds and frogs and voices of fear, surprise, intimacy, intrusion, complaisance, ignorance, caress.
Voices uses as its primal material the voice of the director and musician Giorgos Nikopoulos from his film The Ox (recorgings: Giorgos Gargalas) and dance/body sequence recordings by Christina Mertzani, Enangelos Poulinas and Evangelia Randou. I want to thank them all for their expressivity and body sweat. Other sounds used are voice recordings (Agnese Banti), violin (Nikolas Anastasiou), clarinet (Esther Lamneck), percussion (Giorgos Stavridis). I also thank all my students who helped with the recordings.
Voices is commissioned by the artistic research project Embodied Gestures (PEEK AR-399) funded by FWF Austria and had its premiere at the Echoes Around Me Festival 2020 in Vienna. Thanks to Thomas Gorbach and Enrique Tomás for initiating the commission.

I had a folder called “audio exam”, and I've ever wanted to listen  its various contents for some time... They are several files recovered from a hard disk scan.
This audio file was quite large (1.2 GB) and the lenght was more than an hour in total, but I don't remember anything about how it was created, with which DAW and which programmes or hardware were used for...
Most of the session was silent except for the last 27 minutes, i think iy could be hard to listen  for some of you (not for me).
The only editing done was to divide the track into three equal parts and use a stereo expander, since for most of the track only one channel can be heard, and to use right, left and centre panning. 
I think it's like an electroacoustic prayer for these delirious times...

There are still many files to examine, so I thought (for the noisiest ones) I would create a special playlist.
