back on the piano, inspired by a wonderful vacation at the baltic sea and with some fresh music... Anmut will be the title track of the new album I am working on and planning to release in 2014. As per usual I am releasing all songs here on soundcloud before....

A track for my grandmother Martha who would have celebrated her 98th birthday today on the 19th of March. 
She loved the spring poem "Er ist's" from the german poet Eduard Möricke.  Every year in spring time she  recited it over hundred of times for us when the sky was blue and the warm sun was shining...I can hear her in my head right now and this is a wonderful memory I tried to catch with my piano...

Frühling lässt sein blaues Band
Wieder flattern durch die Lüfte;
Süße, wohlbekannte Düfte
Streifen ahnungsvoll das Land.
Veilchen träumen schon,
Wollen balde kommen.
—Horch, von fern ein leiser Harfenton!
Frühling, ja du bist's!
Dich habe ich vernommen!

Here is an English translation of the poem:

Spring lets his blue ribbons
flutter through the air again.
Sweet familiar scents
drift over the countryside,
full of promise;

violets are already dreaming
of their time time to come.
Listen; the soft sound of a distant harp!
It must be you, Spring;
it is you I have heard.

Gray Skies - David Hollandsworth // Orchestral Rework

Through sound, emotion seeks new dimensions, not as an escape from reality but rather in a search for the image of a new reality. Music that creates emotion, is like a wind that purifies, rendering visible all the obstacles and divisions. It is rather like a piercing arrow that alerts the parts of our mind we do not normally go to, in our daily lives. It opens up unknown and obscure landscapes, like a ray of light that filtering into a dark room, banishes the darkness and leaves nothing to hinder vision. 
”Canone degli Spazi” is about the sound that journeys in all directions, the sound that travels through endless space - through the outer world and the inner space - through the unconscious and the senses. 
When I play with precision and with specific intent, the emotion that rises inside of me is the mirror of the one that arises in the person who is listening - it provokes a sense of union and communion with those sharing the same moment. Music becomes a vehicle of an objective feeling, which is almost the same for most people. Similarly, if I am not One with the sound and my intention is not clear, the same notes played carelessly are empty - they lose their power and their intensity. The level of clarity of my expression depends on what I can make arise inside of me. When that happens, the inner nature of the melodies that are being played spreads out into space, into the air, into the earth and out to the whole atmosphere. A real spell takes place between the performer and his public, creating a magical aura of deep harmony and sharing. This is the wonder of a sound that has come from a long time ago, through myths and mythology, and returns us to the essence of Music, that most supreme of Arts. 
I composed “Canone degli Spazi” around essential elements - the harmony of the triads, the melodic repetition and the cycles that follow the orbits of the planets and the structure of harmonics - the very same fundamental rules that Pythagoras followed to make the laws of the Universe coincide. Sound can help us to realize that our inner space is as vast as our outer space and that in reality there is no difference between them. Sound travels through walls - the walls of the mind too – transcending both time and space.

This is my first waltz, inspired by the great series of waltzes from Stephan Beneking, I could not hold back to compose my own one. It was fun composing it and I hope you like it....

I'm a contemporary violinist, composer and music producer. After a classical training, I toured and recorded as a jazz and rock violinist for several years in multiple French bands, then moved to Australia to release my own music. 

On this page you will find music I'm passionate about, both improvised and written, where solo instruments can shine, in particular strings - from acoustic violins to electric cellos. I like to fuse these organic instruments with electronic influences to create a captivating experience and tell a story through each song, leaving a space for improvisation in my creation process.

I also compose and record music for soundtracks and commercials.
