NYAI is an alternative five piece rock band formed and living in Fukuoka city which is placed in the southern part of Japan.Their music style is influenced by the late 80s to 90s alternative pop and rock bands and artists from US, UK and Japan, such as Flaming Lips, Pavement and Cornelius. Nevertheless, their music can be described as very much original NYAI music for the people living in the 21st century. It is authentic, futuristic, realistic and much more fun to listen to for the everyday people in the world today.Watch out for the NYAI music or they might catch YOU! !

Started in the early 90's as a three piece jam band, weekly bedroom sessions went on for many years, with no pressure to perform we play loose jams and a handful of original songs. On and off over the years the drummer James has been active in the London psych scene playing with the likes of Arthur Brown and Instant Flight. For a real idea of the Improvised jams we have played over the years check out the Shed Session page, in 2006 we had the use of a studio where we set up some recording equipment and held regular all night jams/partys that we recorded. We can still occasionally be heard thrashing out a progression or two at the local studio.
