This week's radio show is hosted by Frank Rayo. Frank Rayo is not an invention, it's his real name. Authentic, so he wants his music to be, while unraveling a genre result of his deep exploration into the electronic scene in Germany and worldwide. He feels his background flows through the rolling drum lines, while still his techno picks up force, proposing bass lines sometimes groovy and sometimes dirty. His own understanding of the sound brings him always playful and unpredictable on the decks, with only one goal: to experience the dancing souls’ reactions to his DJ sets while he evokes and expires the mindfulness, force and freedom techno gives him.

PURE VENOM PODCAST #4 - FRANK RAYO

Hamburg vibes lover, our Colombian friend lives in this city since 4 years, where he works very hard on his creative process through music. 

During our talk, we had the chance to reflect on individual issues that in the end, also affect the whole community of the music industry. Who are his referents? What is his process to find music? The expression of his emotions, the transmission of his feelings, and conscious technical training are standard processes in his development as a Dj. (check the interview on our IG)

Frank loves to experiment behind the decks and make people dance and fly with his performance. Today he wants to make sexual discrimination visible and presents a non-normative music composition to claim for a fairer representation in the market. 

Frank Rayo's DJ set is full of tracks with a big influence of groove techno, new rave, and trance. You will find artists like Lady Starlight, Caiva or La Kajofol, including Mystical Tekno vibes.

According to him, searching for female referents has been much harder than expected. Once again, we find ourselves taking part in an environment that is forgetting half of its audience and referents.

We are very happy to work with other artist partners against this discriminating system that reduces us according to our sexual expression or gender identity. 

Remember that training our self-consciousness is what helps us the most to develop our creative capability, and enjoy it with others!

Rayo (bedeutet Blitz auf Spanisch) ist der echte Nachname von Frank und angesichts der Energie und der Dynamik, die er in seinen Performances verbreitet, auch der perfekte Künstlername für den kolumbianischen DJ. 

Seine Rhythmen sind sowohl von seiner Zeit als Metalcore Schlagzeugspieler, als auch von den Einflüssen der elektronischen Szenen in Kolumbien, Deutschland und aller Welt inspiriert. Frank Rayo nennt seinen Sound GROOAVE: seine groovige Essenz in einer Rave Stimmung. Eine Mischung von Hypnotic Techno, Groove Techno, New Rave, Trance, Hard Groove und Breakbeat erzählt in seinen Tracks und Sets Geschichten voller Energie, Kontrasten und Emotionen. 

Mit großer Empathie stellt er seinen treibenden Sound auf den richtigen Vibe der Party ein, indem er stets verspielt und unberechenbar am Mischpult bleibt. Sein Ziel ist aber immer das gleiche: die Resonanz der tanzenden Seelen zu seiner Musik zu erleben, während er die drei Hauptgefühle hervorruft, die Techno ihm geben: Mindfulness, Force and Freedom.
